WTF is panther piss? lol.

I think Mike made that shit up himself. Says its toluene + MMO. They're the only person that ever posts about it. He must love it, been posting about it for several years.

This is the only reference i could find to pather piss on google

PANTHER PISS

Another threat for urban dwellers is presented by Panther Piss. This nickname identifies a fuel additive used by highly-classified high-performance Mach 3 aircraft to eliminate contrails.

"Think about it," emailed (an unverified) former Air Force line man. "You have an airframe flying over foreign land, they can't paint it with radar, they cant get an IR lock, but they look up and see a nice white line streaking across the sky. I think you just lost both stealth and your aircraft."

While this source would not confirm the presence of EDB, he stated that Panther Piss is "almost the same (chemically) as a popular pest- exterminating chemical. We all know the effects of those chemicals."

The tune that we sent is NOT an aggressive tune and it fine for your car. What Chris Jones did was tune it for 91 but titled it 93. We checked this morning. Your g2g buddy:beer:

ok well back in June/July of LAST year when I got my BBR tune for this car, I specificly remember Chris saying that this tune was for 93 and aggressive or whatever, AFTER I had ordered a tune for 91. He made no changes for the 91 and said to just run it anyway because it would be fine. Now that all these problems have come up with #8 etc. the last time I called there and spoke with you Steve, and I was told that my 93 tune is still fine to run.. I called before that and spoke to John a couple of times as well..How is that so when I got this tune over a year ago, before all these problems came about? No one has even looked at my tune to see if I have anything to worry about or if ANY changes need to be made. This is the only reason I DONT run my BBR tune when its really hot out, and if it is loaded then I just drive the normally and dont beat on it.

I guess my question is and has been since all these problems came up is.. is MY tune ok to run with 91oct when in fact it IS for 93?? I would appreciate it if someone would actually take the time to LOOK at my tune that I have from you guys and make sure, instead of just guessing, because I know that if my #8 piston/rings decide to let go, and I call you guys to ask wtf happend when I was told the last 2 or 3 times that I have called and inquired about this, that my tune was never even looked at to make sure if it was ok.. that I will be S.O.L.

As we have stated many times before, Our tunes are g2g and we have had NO ISSUES with anyone running our tune world wide. The difference with 91 and 93 is so small that you will not see anything. The aggressive tune title is just as is it. a title. Now we call them 93 extreme tunes. But we are VERY conservative with the tunes that are sent out to our customer's. People all over the world in hotter places then any part of the states runs them with no issues.

but, if you are worried, shoot me a call. we can talk more about this bro.

If you say so, then I will take your word for it.. I just hope your right lol because I am in NO position to replace $3k worth of parts if something does happen, I know thats not your problem. I have stuck with BBR for 3-4yrs when it comes to my 91 tunes, and never had any problems. I know other vendors/shops are backing up thier tunes w/ a motor/parts warranty of sorts, and I havent heard of you guys doing that yet, but IF something was to shoot craps I would hope that something would be taken care of. However like you said, I have yet to hear of a BBR tune doing this so far.

Some food for thought, since you must be a chemical engineer to make such claims.

"The difference with 91 and 93 is so small that you will not see anything."
The difference is substantial when your vehicle is tuned for the octane level noted, less buffering because of more specific parameters. Basically going from the entire area under a bell curve to just the peak, same goes for fuel.

The aggressive tune title is just as is it. a title. Now we call them 93 extreme tunes. But we are VERY conservative with the tunes..."
So which is it? When picking a name to represent your tunes, are you actively deceiving your customers or are you just outright lying? Last I checked "aggressive/extreme" are not terms synonymous with "conservative".

"People all over the world in hotter places then any part of the states runs them with no issues."
Customers in places "hotter than the states". You must have a small customer base in Dubai or some other arid desert country, because it was 112' here the other week, and gets up to 118' in the summer time. Seems pretty hot to me. Do you happen to have any solid data with the maximum/minimum operating temperatures of the Coyote motor with your tunes loaded on the ECU? But I don't know for sure, but I doubt it.

I'm not attacking what you said, but I have something personal about people saying things that they are unsure of, or don't have sufficient data to back up their claims. Not just some average bloke, but someone (like yourself and other shops, big or small) who have a responsibility and obligation to the customer. They trust you, count on you to be accountable for your knowledge and words. Saying "ah, things should be ok if you run 91 or 93 octane" and then something goes kaboom so you follow up with "we didn't make you put that gas in your car, that was your choice..." is something I see happening here.

In the medical field, we are expected to know everything about every aspect of our patient under every circumstance, why? Because it's life and death. Same thing here, except it's the death of an engine. Many people can't afford to shell out $3k-$4k in parts and labor to fix a mistake based on your assumption that it's "ok" to mix fuels like that. If a doctor told me to do something he had no data on, but felt it would be ok, I'd find another doctor. Just saying. Be accountable for what you tell people who may listen.

Don't take anyone's "word" for it. Get it in writing if you want coverage. I've been burned by shops in the past, you can say it left a pretty good size chip on my shoulder since it cost me a motor o my last stang. All because the jerk thought it would "be ok" and had no data to back up his claims.

yes, we have a lot of customer's in the middle east.

Chris writes his tunes safely but with some good power behind them which our costumer's can agree with me on. The title is 93 extreme tune. If you want a full on race tune, then ask for it.

And I do agree that we as a shop have an obligation to our customers. That's why we stand behind the tunes that Chris writes. We have had NO ISSUES with our tunes unlike other's have. We have only seen great results and cars being taking care of. Many people on here and agree with me that if their is an issue, I will work to the best of my ability to assure everything is worked out.

If you have any other concerns, I will gladly take a few minutes to talk with you on the phone and answer more of your questions or concerns.

I don't have a 2011-2012 Mustang but I am running 91 octane with a 93 tune in my GTO without any problems but I will get a new tune as the tune is not 100%. The tuner didn't get the idle spot on with the cam.

I think just about all of the top tuners " 87, 89, 91, 93 tunes" are probably about the same nowadays. The ones that were making a little more in power in the beginning were leaning the motors out to get more hp than the other guy and deleting knock sensors(which I am sure most have gotten away from this unless it is an in-house car). This is where the majority of #8' issues were coming up. The tuners that run a tad on the rich side may not quite put out the peak numbers as some of the others but actually are safer in this motor. Running an A/F a tad on the rich side aids in the cooling of that #8 piston which has an inherant design flaw in the Coyote motor. I have the Steeda 87 and 93 CAI Inducton tunes. They feel identical and I too question if there is any difference. That being said, the Steeda 93 tune and Cold Air induction that I run turned my car into a beast.

People, don't post up rumors that you hear. If your modding your motor your taking some risk! It could blow just from taking it to the track or driving around town with no tune! If your worried about it, go buy a Prius! There is so much more in a tune and how it works than 99.9% of the people on this thread know. I tuned my own car and a few others and there is still a lot of stuff I need to learn. I use BBR tunes on a lot of my customers mustangs and they run great and have never had a problem. If they say the tunes is fine, it's fine. The guys at BBR are great and know there shit!

The tune that we sent is NOT an aggressive tune and it fine for your car. What Chris Jones did was tune it for 91 but titled it 93. We checked this morning. Your g2g buddy:beer:

Awesome, thanks for your help. I did load the 93 tune and it is running great. really happy with it. throttle is a bit touchy but i'll get used to it, it's just like my '07 was. I was figuring with my elevation even if it was an aggressive 93 tune i'd be alright, but with the #8 issues I was a bit concerned. took it for a drive this weekend in the mountains, got up to 7300' and it was still running great... my 07 felt sluggish at that elevaiton.

It took BBR 4 days and 3 different tries to get me a tune that would actually allow my car to start and idle, much less drive. But when it was finally right, it was a whole new car. It runs excellent! Will say they were diligent on their efforts to get me up and running.
