I know numbers dont matter, but seeing what you guys think I might be running.

I'm getting a baseline before I install my pile of paper weights I have in the garage; JBA shorty headers, FRPP hot rod cams, BBK o/r x-pipe, C&L racer intake, & 62mm TB. Then I'll get an after an see what Hp/Tq I made with a bunch of junk.

My only pass at the track was at Qualcomm stadium which is known for horrible traction and my granny shifting didnt help.

60' 2.4xx
1/8 9.1xx
Mph 81.xx
on nitto street tires.

I plan on taking to a proper 1/8 or 1/4 track soon as my schedule allows, but the parts will likely be in by then.

My current mods:
- Steeda CAI
- Steeda UDP's
- Steeda CMCV
- Steeda Tune
- Borla Stingers
Nothing too crazy, just some basic bolt-ons.

Anyways, enough rambling, what do you think I'll make, I'll post a graph up when I get it.

~320hp

Ditch the shorties and go LT's!

Good luck!

I'm in Cali so LT's are a smog no-no. Besides eventually I want to go turbo, so shorties can stay for that and I scored them for only $150...

Not ideal, but it'll please the emissions nazi's and work toward my eventual goal.

Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised at my numbers. I know dyno numbers dont mean anything, but I want a baseline so I'll know what my mods make.

313.4 rwhp @ 5200 RPM 346.6 rwtq @ 4250 RPM

Over 300 ft/lbs from 2250 to 5250 RPM!

Rock solid 12.25 ish a/f.

I was close...LOL! Tq comes on strong right out of the gate!! Looks good.

EDIT: Wait, so NOW you're going to put the JBA shorty headers, FRPP hot rod cams, BBK o/r x-pipe, C&L racer intake, & 62mm TB on and then redyno it?

Affirmative! this was just a baseline before all those parts.

I cant believe that tq curve and that beautiful a/f.

I dont put much weight on dyno numbers, but wanted a baseline before so I can see what the parts will gain.

LOL it was just supposed to be a baseline for the cams, but I've put it off so long I now have a pile of parts!

Such as? I went to a reputable shop and only wanted a baseline, no work being performed there so I don't see why they'd artificially inflate the numbers...

Anyone?

I doubt it makes a difference, but I also have a Coast Alum. DS.

Those numbers look right for an engine dyno but not for a chassis dyno.

Typical driveline loss for a manual car is 15%. If we take your numbers and multiply by .85 they come out as 266/295 which is right on par for a stock car at the wheels.

Now, lets take your numbers and divide by .85 which is the typical correction applied to rw numbers to aproximate engine hp and tq. It comes out to 368/407.

come on bruce don't destroy a man's dream

I'm not pissing on anyone's cherrios. He was wondering why a few posters were skeptical so I told him why I think they would be.

I don't believe dynos are the end all be all measurement of performance. They are a great tool to have and I'll admit to attending a few dyno days just to hang out, see the cars and bs.

Everyone wants to see good numbers for their car, nothing wrong with that.

There is no animosity on my part.

Nice #'s

That is a high number considering those current mods. When I first got my 05 it had LT's, hot rods, o/r x-pipe, C&L Racer and dyno'd at 328whp. I would've guessed around 335 for you AFTER the mods. Much higher now since you're almost there already. Maybe mine was built on a Friday before a summer shutdown :(

No worries guys, no one is pissing in my cheerios. I didn't even think I was going to make 300 going into it, so my numbers seemed high to me as well.

I realize dyno #'s don't mean squat, which is why I got a baseline because I'm just curious what my parts will gain, not what the end HP # is.

I'm pondering going to a different dyno to get a more realistic number because it makes me wonder. If the initial numbers are inflated then the gained ones will likely be as well.
Ex: conservative dyno X says the same parts give me 100hp, if Sally Slut dyno Y reads 20% higher does that mean it will say I gained 120hp?

But really in the end I only care about how she (Faye Valentine) drives...

I just noticed at the bottom of the dyno graph it lists "max hp" and "eng hp". but the 2 are only 9.1% apart. I calc'd 85% of the "eng hp" rating of 344 and got 292hp, which sounds a lot more accurate to me.

Why would they list it like that, and use a % thats not the industry standard. Seems very odd to me.

Where did you get dynoed? I'm sorry you raced at Qualcomm. I'm hoping to make it to Barona on the 22nd. I've heard it's a lot better traction wise.

Sorry to be off topic, but is the Barona track the only local track other than Qualcomm? Never wanted to try qualcomm.
