KB + 4.10's here.. very fun on the street, and I am still able to dead hook at the track.

Of course, any type of FI is a win really.

Not exactly. As you can see on this dyno sheet a twin screw makes full boost as soon as the bypass closes. This makes the very flat torque curve that makes a Whipple so much fun. It also means sometimes unexpected wheel spin at higher power levels.

Under WOT, yes full boost happens. But under part throttle, part boost happens. Dyno's are always WOT, nobody dyno's at part throttle.

Part throttle is real world, not dyno world. Drivning around on the street you can dial in the amount of boost you want by controlling the amount of throttle you use. If it didn't work this way it would near impossible to drive.

Yes, once the bypass valve is closed, boost level, up to whatever the pulley is capable of, is determined by throttle position.

You can physically pin the bypass closed, free rev it up to 5000 rpm and unless your throttle plate is open more than a little, it's not going to be making any boost. With a TS, it can only compress air it has access to, if you close the throttle, the rotors aren't compressing anything no matter how fast they spin. It's not like a centri in that respect. The bypass valve on a TS isn't there to dump boost when you let off. It's simply there to redirect the air during part throttle.

17 psi with a twin screw goes from vacuum to boost real quick, even at part throttle which is why I had to drive like an old man around town. Go just a little heavy on the throttle you hear the whine and the wheels break loose.

I missed what twin screw you are driving and at what power level. Fill me in please.

Here is my take.

I have driven a stang with a centri and also with a KB

The centri was on a built 331 95 gt. It was fun to drive down low, but the boost came in fast above 2800 and sometimes unpredictable. Still a hell of a lot of fun.

The KB is on my current car. I like it that I know exactly when I am going to be in boost. install was easier (for me) with the KB.

I personally prefer the KB. In the end it is all up to you.

Best of luck.

I am one of the few that have installed, driven, and tuned every supercharger made for the 05+. FWIW, I always lean towards Procharger.

Personally both are out of my budget so ill be going vortech this summer probably, but if either are in your budget id probably choose Pro-charger, only reason being intercooled and keeps temps down considerably when compared to kb, I have a buddy that had a kb'd cobra and had to much heat at times but man that thing was badass and made stupid power, either way you go its gonna be a fun car, I mightve missed it in this thread is your car a dd or weekend toy?

If you (or anyone else) goes the Procharger route, make sure you go with the upgraded Stage II intercooler. It makes a big difference on IAT's.

Im actually in the process of buying matt06s stage II procharger, but what are common IATS numbers? What are some supporting mods, i tend to look at efficiency of the power i have (talking post centri install) and not always big numbers.

I think it depends on what you use the car for.... Here is my take:

I went procharger bc if I needed to drive the car every day (which was the original purpose of the car when I bought it) than I would be able to do it with the centri. I was forced to drive the stang all week to work last week bc my other car was getting some work done at Ford. If you dont drive like a doosh than the car will drive exactly like it did before the SC install which is sometimes nice, especially in bad weather. I think its the best of both worlds. I would buy the procharger again if I had to over anything else thats out there. Get on the gas a little bit and the car is a lot of fun, but of course it can be mellow when needed.

I might be wrong but I dont think you can use those hot rod cams with the kb blower ? I'd go with a pro charger if it's a daily driver or does any kind of street driving
