Good inputs Don and Peter, thank you. I checked my tune today to adjust my fans, but JDM only allows adjustment of Tire Revs and Gear ratio. :hammer: I was hoping I could have my fans turn on at a lower temp.

Don, do you remember how you wired your fans to be on all the time while the car is running? And hopefully explained on a 2nd grade level...like with crayons. :thumb:

you can sign a waiver and get a lot of stuff unlocked

The low speed relay goes through a resistor before going to the fan. If you run too long on low speed you will overheat the resistor and burn it. If you use the rejumper on the relay to the left of it it will jump the high speed fan.

Where is the resistor?

Just thought I would share some information about this new fan assembly. The fan, motor & shroud look identical to the 2005 assembly. What is different is the resistor. This is the same resistor that Thump_rrr said was in the circuit but not shown on the wiring schematic. The resistor is mounted to the shroud where the harness plugs into the assembly. The resistor is for the low speed side of the fan only. The resistor has 3 wires coming in (low speed from the relay, high speed from the relay and a ground) and 2 wires going to the fan motor. The resistor is not serviced separately. The fan motor speed is controlled by the resistor. When the resistor fails, the low speed side of the fan does not work. Take a look at the attached pictures. Looks like the resistor for 2007 (silver in color) is definitely changed from the 2005 (green in color).

what is the harm of jsut running the fan on high speed all the time instead of having the low speed as well

Probably nothing.

But in my case the custom tune is locked I can't lower the temp at which the high speed fan turns on. I don't want to wait to reach the temp setting of the high speed fan before the fan turns on at all. So I replaced the fan so it operates with both the low & high speed as it was originally intended to operate.

So I've got the Meziere in and also wired the fan as described by Don and Peter above. Unfortunately the switches I bought do not work. Tried a two post switch I had laying around and it worked fine. Any idea how to get this three post switch to work based on the wiring instructions above?

Switch has ground, 12v in, and out to source (fan relay). I have it wired with the ground and to the fan relay. LED comes on but the fan won't.

Those switches will work to power the relays. That is what I'm using to turn my fans & Meziere H2O pump on.

There are 3 terminals on the switch:
  • Pin #3 (gold colored end terminal) - ground (the only reason this terminal is even used is so the LED will work)
  • Pin #2 (silver colored center terminal) - 12v+ to the relay
  • Pin #1 (silver colored end terminal) - 12V+ power source

What's the reason to run a 12v power source to the switch since it's not required to turn the fan on. Oh wait...with the two post switch the fan will only turn on when the key is on ACC. Will the 12v power source allow it to run with the key off and on ACC?

Looks the the resistor for 2007 (silver in color) is definitely changed from the 2005 (green in color).

They've added ventilation. I bet the one you show in green gets red hot and burns up because it can't cool off enough. All of those holes and such are for one thing: air to circulate!

Are you turning the fan relay on using 12V+ or ground?

Ground since I have to have the key on ACC for the Mezeire the way it's wired now. Just figured I'd run all three things at the same time with the key on. But if I can only use this switch with 12v+, then I'll either wire in the power or get another switch.

You my friend are a wealth of knowledge for us electrically challenged. Works like a charm!!! :clap:

With the Meziere only I went from 218* to 180* in 20 minutes. Will time it later today with the fans as well. However, for DD I wish JDM would unlock my tune so I can adjust my fan as it does not come on until 220*. That or if someone could post how to have them run all the time.

Call them if you sign a release they will unlock it .

While I was at the track last night, my fan quit working completely. In the back of my mind, I knew that someday this could happen, since I have the low speed fan relay wired to a switch. Based on this thread, it's possible that I fried the resistor. But if that's the case, would it also kill the high speed side?
