Damn man...sorry to hear that.....Henson is who tuned my car he is very good at what he does.......and I am taking it back to him next week probably or the week after to do some more tweaking on my car......I am having nitrous problems so we got to re-do some stuff....plus putting a bigger intake and stuff on it as well......I will have to ride over there when you bring your car up....you said it was on the 28th?? morning or afternoon???

I tell you what, cold starts is a problem for a lot of people with highly modified cars. My has never been right since replacing the motor and stepping up the injectors. On going problem that has never been fully fixed. I hope we can get some of this sorted out on your car on the 28th and get it up and running to its full potential.

I know Dave was also complaining about cold start problems before he pulled his motor setup. I know my is horrible to start once it has been sitting for awhile. When I had the Saleen and the 60lb injectors I could not get the damn thing started without pulling the plugs every time, was freaking ridiculous.

i hear you mang. ran into same issue when i installed new engine. if i didnt get it on the first cold crank it wouldnt start had to floor it to get it going and only then would it shoot out a big cloud of smoke with a rough idle. otherwise once warmed up it was ok. turns out a/f was pig rich...10.2 i believe. got a new tune and now im leaning out too much up top fml..i second you shouldnt drive it and possibly plug up your cats if you have them. hope it works out

Sorry to hear about your issues. Atleast you have a great mechanic that is looking out for you. Hard to find honest good people out there in the car scene. Looking forward to 2 successful dyno tunes with big numbers

Me and Sherrod Mustang will be going in the am. I think around 10am we should be there. We are both trailering the cars. And both have cold crank issues. lol Its going to be a long day

LOL.... This is true... I really do enjoy it though.. pretty awesome to see the Mustangs on the dyno.... Love it.

Lol....Yes it may be a long day but hopefully both cars will be up and running the way they should when the day is over....

Yes it is very true....I just love watching the cars on the dyno....but it is always more exciting when your own car is up there getting worked on....your like kid in a candy store waiting to see what you can get when you do this or that.....lol

yea...its fun but nerve racking at the same time.

tuner sent me a new tune that he adjusted so Im going to put it in the car and see what it does...He's also coming down Saturday so maybe I can get him to crank it cold and get more readings to try and fix it

GOOD NEWS!

I finally took out the plugs and cleaned them. I then uploaded the new tune the tuner sent me and it cranked right up. About 30-40seconds into it, it started bogging again and the a/f was pegged at 10.0. It took about 10 seconds and it cleared up and then bogged again for another 10 seconds then perfect.

Tuner then came to Montgomery and has been troubleshooting mine and SherrodMustang's car. Since Joe had a problem with his, the tuner started with my car. Went driving around and datalogged some info and he took about 10% of fuel out. Everything with cruise was spot on. Let the car sit for a little bit and let it cool off and started it, and its perfect. cranks and runs like a champ. I guess the real test will be tomorrow morning but Im pretty positive its fixed....

Not sure...I left because I was tired..Ive been going on 3 hours of sleep. I know we couldnt get it started for a bit b/c we thought it was flooded out. Started taking out the plugs and noticed the plugs werent wet...He was just outta gas! lol

I will be back over there tomorrow finishing up small touches on mine and his car so I will get more details

They had 4 people over there that all new Mustangs..I didn't want too but my eyes started rolling back.

They didnt get it right. The tuner was going to send him a new tune today so we are going to try that. Its cutting out under boost again and cant figure out why.

Did you use ev-6 length injectors? My whipple only acted up with a custom tune. Once I started using prp and comparing the custom tune to stock values the cold fuel table stuck out like a sore thumb. For some reason the value files are super rich for blown applications. This causes the motor to stumble until it's warmed up as even the standard fuel table is enriched for the lower coolant temps. There is a little more to it than that but it's the biggest error I've found that deals with cold starts.

OP I hope you get it sorted out. A tempermental car is no fun as you know.

My car has the same issue. Fastlane has had my car for some time now they have had problem after problem with it and they finally thought they had everything worked out and then the cold start problem. Well I was told I would be able to pick up my car on Friday but before they hand my car over they want to make sure that the cold start problem is gone for good so there letting it set for the weekend and see if its really gone. So crossing my finger that Ill be back in my car for the first time in a year and half on Monday. As Fastlane go there hard get a hold of some time but they seem to go over and over everything before they return a customers car.
