the place i had my windows tinted have a life time warrantee against any defects. so i want to get my front windows re done. there 35 now, im gonna go down to 20. right now the tint is scratched to hell. i have searched plenty and came up with a few things to possibly help the problem, either change my 05 moldings to the 07 up moldings. or get this moleskin from http://www.tintprotector.com/ ....who here has had this problem and used either one of the things listed... how has it worked for you?

I bought the new moldings. It took about 5 minutes per side to install. Once you get the old one out you kind of have to tap the new one in place with a rubber mallet because its hard to get it in there. Its been 9 months since I tinted and no scratches.

I installed the Moleskin in my old car, never had a single problem with it leaving a residue after about 4 months.

I got the upgraded strips and have had no problems with scratching. I really wish I would have went with 20 all around instead of 35 :(

Nice thing about the updated gasket is its basically stock, no worries about adhesive leaking out like the moleskin. I paid about $35 a side including shipping from my local dealer through http://www.fordparts.com/

If you do a search you'll find others with adhesive residue problems with the moleskin. The new inserts are the best solution and will fix it 100% of the time with no possibility of any adhesive problems.

What do you mean by adhesive problems? Like it getting on the window?

I had an '06 and I went to Walmart and bought some Velcro. I used the soft side of the Velcro and cut it to fit. $5 maybe. Worked like a champ!!!!

I used Tintprotector on my 07 and never had any issues with it.

With the way it gets hot and humid up here dude, just go for the 08+ replacement pieces. It takes 10 min to do!
