What would cause a plug to break while the car is running. I am talking the tip of the plug, about an 1/8 th inch total.

Thanks.

Broken or melted?

Detonation is my first guess

Any pics?

Do you take that thing over any cool jumps?

That would do it. I don't know if detonation would physically break a plug. I bet someone dropped it before it went in.

That's pretty brutal. I've melted down some plugs and even pistons, but have never had a plug that bad.

I imagine the car wasn't just running, what were you doing when it happened?

Replaced the melted plug..seennmm Car ran ok but there was no vacuum. It was rough. After dropping a boroscipe in the cylinder, it looks as if the piston is fried. This happened when the tunerr and I were cruising around. I power shifted into 2nd, the car backfired then I heard what sounded like I ran over gravel. I immediately why'd is doj
