Replaced the melted plug..seennmm Car ran ok but there was no vacuum. It was rough. After dropping a boroscipe in the cylinder, it looks as if the piston is fried. This happened when the tunerr and I were cruising around. I power shifted into 2nd, the car backfired then I heard what sounded like I ran over gravel. I immediately why'd is doj

They key question here is was the tuner working on the tune at that point? When you powershifted into 2nd, what RPM were you at?

Wow! Sorry to see such a mess knowing how hard you worked this winter in the outside elements to get your car up and running.

The tuner was in the car with me datalogging and making changes to the tune. I am going to see if the shop will cover some costs for the repair. They want me to pay for all the dyno time and also 2 dyno tunes.

After my meeting with them on Monday I will inform all about the details. I am not happy that a brand new motor blows while being tuned and I am responsible for the service.
I wish I could charge people to blow up or screw up there Shit.

Thanks guys. Trying to scrape together enough cash to fix it, or it will sit or be parted out. Not happy at all. Next time it is going to evolution and have john lund tune it. I am pulling the motor this weekend.

Will keep you guys informed. Also, any help with a return fuel system would be appreciated. Cannot afford a jpc or a drop on setup. Looking to build one.

Thanks,
Gregg

Really sorry to see this, a perfectly tuned electronic returnless fuel system works great you do not have to change to return just need someone to do it right.

Sorry to hear about this. I was looking forward to seeing your completed build and for this to happen does put a damper on it all. I hope you work things out and get the car a healthy tune.

Very sorry to hear about this. I would be raising hell at the shop that did the tune until they paid to fix it. After all that hard work you put into it and you don't even get to enjoy it really bothers me. Best of luck getting it back together and running right.

I was down at the shop today and spoke with the owners and the tuner. They are going to try and work with me.

They want my injectors so they can send them out and have them tested.

I pulled my motor today and tore it down. The piston looks marred up, but not broke. But the head on the other hand is wrecked. Lost an exhaust valve.

The shortblock is ok for the most part. No scoring of the cylinder walls. At least this gives me a reason to upgrade the heads.

Here is some of the all so popular carnage pics.

Holy shit man! That is not good at all! Do you need heads or are you going to get brand new heads from someone?

Also it looks like your heads don't look to happy, inbetween the two intake valves there is a little face lol

Yeah, super street did the tune. Manny and Harold are going to help out. Not sure of the extent of the help, but we will see.

Thanks Sean, I see the little face also, looks funny.

I am going with a new set of heads from fox lake, or maybe see what Precision cylinder heads in Long Island can do.

THIS SUCKS!!!!

I have a set of heads sitting in my room right now if you need them. They may have bent valves and there are shipping peanuts in every single cooling passage and just everywhere. You can have them if you want. Oh and they came out of a car with a blown motor. I havent taken the valves out to see if they are bent or not but I was told they probably need to be rebuilt

Thanks Sean. I am probably sending them to fox lake. But need to dismantle mine and take out the cams, springs and retainers. Oh yeah, I sent you a text also.

Thanks Fuel, I am hoping to have the car back up running, and painted by the end of May.

Did not read about it but this is cyl #1, how are the rest of the plugs and pistons?

The damage on the plug was too massive to reflect melting due heat.
