All the glass is compromised also I would guess, since you don't know how hot it really got inside.

aftermarket seat covers.. Maybe it stems from that install somehow???
Theyve been on there for a while now. Dunno why it would happen now and not sooner

That sucks man. Sorry to see this. We use to have a contract to clean cars with fire damage. We ha to completely strip the car to bareetal an clean with chemicals and replace the parts that needs it. Takes a vary long time to get clean. Which all of the cars we did it was still present somewhat.

I was gonna say you would have to gut the entire interior, dash too, out to get rid of the smell. Maybe totaled.

Id be very surprised if it wasnt totaled out ...Op sorry for the bad luck man

Yea. Im kinda torn how to feel right now because I know the smell is going to stay there. Part of me hopes they total it because of that. I would end up buying it back probably but it sucks cuz I love my car and I would have a salvage title when the thing has never even been in an accident.

sorry to see that rob if they total it out at least you can buy it back for cheap and use the left over to finish the motor lol

Sad thing is I already have everything for the motor. Got a TSS oil pump last week. Just waiting to file my piston rings, swap them in, get it balanced and put it together. Really nothing else to spend much on.

It really upsets me too because the stator on my motorcycle went out this weekend, battery wont hold a charge. 2 vehicles down in one week :dead2:

I was thinking the same thing.

Anyone know how they determine the value for totaling a car out? I have state farm if that matters. I dont even know if the car will turn on. Im scared to mess with anything until the adjuster gets here

maybe the fire just burned out because it didnt get enough oxygen in the cabin?

This is crazy! I'm sure if they total it I would assume they would give you what the value of the car is worth or how ever much it would be to buy another one.

A car that is 5+ years old will usually be totaled at 50% of its current value. I had it happen to my 1996 Camaro from water damage. The window wouldn't seal by the T-Tops were to slicks and a 200 shot. Car sat at heliport for a week with about 4" of water in it after a hard rain. Car was only valued at $9,800 and damage was $5,200. They totaled it, gave me $7,800 for it, and sold it back to me for $2,000. I had all interior fixed for $1,300 buying stuff from eBay.
