Hey guys, so I just bottomed out on a speed bump again and I will tell you, it was fuckin load and everyone was looking. Definitely isnt a fun feeling.

So I wanted to ask: How do you guys deal with driving a low mustang.

I am on H&R street Coilovers and im pretty sure Im dropped about 2 inches all around if not maybe a tad more. (after installing my coilovers I told my mechanic to make sure it was dropped an inch all around after my alignment, im pretty sure he dropped it an inch from where it was...dumbass)

so yea, how low are you guys and how do you deal with it?

Pictures are appreciated

Let me tell you..

On my v6 I went sportlines only. Stock everything else.. on stock 17s I was dying.. car was mangled and left retarded..

On my gt I had the same h&r coilovers.. went on the lowest setting.. on stock polished 18s still was an issue.. got some 20s and it worked out pretty good. On some speed bumps I rashed a bit but I learned my lesson I'm going with a milder setup.. the looks aren't worth it for me anymore..

If you want the most simple solution and you think that your mechanic is an idiot and lowered your car too much, why do you drive it like that? Raise your car up, you bought height adjustable coilovers for a reason, no?

If ypu want to keep your car at the aame ride height, it is going to take a little more work. As much as it seems ridiculous doing so, I always approach steep driveways, gutters, and speed bumps at an angle.

Long Beach has been notorious for flooding the past few years, and like a lot of cities in the great state of California, the roads are shit. When I dropped my car, I expected to make compromises in drivability. As mentioned, this isn't a beater farm truck you are driving. Going over bumps head on always leads to a heavy bounce when transitioning off of the bump, so slow down, go at an angle to smooth the transition out.

Not sure how it's your mechanic's fault but your car isn't even that low and looks definitely streetable.

Get in the habit of taking slopes on an angle and you should be fine. I've driven my fair share of lowered daily drivers and it's never been that big of a problem.

^this. Eibach prokit advertises as 1.5" but if you change out your shocks/struts you have to factor that too. I can barely get an arm under mine now. I only scrape on the tall speed bumps and i make a point to take them with a little speed so i "skip" over them instead of getting the big clunk. Front bumper on mine is stock so I only have to deal with the midpipe scraping

Shocks don't change ride height unless they are physically shorter/longer than the shocks you are replacing though.

For speed bumps I go over slow, careful and on an angle.... IMO, You don't appear to be excessively low here (??). Seems the easy fix here is to just adjust your coilovers...

Learn to be more careful. I drive my slammed Vette in a city full of speed bumps with little to no issue.

My car is just as low if not lower then yours and I hate it. I bought the car this way and that's the only reason it sits as it does. I take bumps, pot holes, speed bumps etc.. On an angle one wheel at a time and manage just fine I also notice that it's the exhaust that usually will scrape if anything and it hits on the header collector. I can't wait to get my
Cobra jet springs and get back to almost stock ride height.

The car really doesn't look that low. Just take care when going though questionable areas. Mine is in my sig.

Driver Mod! hahaha

You just have to either A learn how to go over those at a real slow speed on an angle, or learn to avoid speed bumps.

Like others said your car doesnt look that low, it doesnt look any lower than a stock Corvette to me
