Wow this thread had me freaked out a bit. Now currently I have the BMR lower control arms and will be installing BMR relocation brackets, this thread has me scared to go to the track. Guess I better look into what it will cost to get it welded.

Does anyone know about how much such a job would be?

Kelly, I think there is no questionat all the product would sell. Especially with BMR branding/marketing and the point you stated about the S197 platform being your top sellers. The Only bolt-on option in the CHE piece which means low competition. JMO though.

If the CHE brace is the only option on the market, and it works, what would be our reason for making one? Just because we have a 3-letter name and it ends with an R.....doesn't mean we have to play that game.

I understand that there are looks, compatibility, etc...

Again, we are firm believers that welding is superior, for many reasons.. If someone cannot bring themselves to fix an issue by welding, there is the CHE piece.

Seriously, glad welding works for you. Some guys like the brace. BMR sells shit. I think they would do well with a axle brace in their lineup. Up to them. I know they are smokin busy with what they got going. But, you can't sit still either.

Good point, but...... I can weld it in less than an hour with about .60 cents worth of material. What do these braces cost?
Both are good solutions, and probly work equally. As long as we do one or the other, we can save our quarter panels from repair like my buddy is doing now.

Very true and no question at all welding is cheaper. My brace was $210 shipped but my thought is for those who don't have access to or trust someone locally to weld their tubes. Also gives Kelly props for posting up an issue and when he gets calls again, he may be able to reply" if you don't feel comfortable welding the tubes, I have a brace part number XYZ that will also work". Just a thought and in Kelly's hands we trust!!

This thread has had my attention as I have put drag radials on my shelby along with more hp/torque. Next weekend several of us forum members are meeting in houston for the weekend and friday nights event is the drag strip. Made a call to a local muffler shop I have used for years and they are going to weld my axles for $20 this afternoon. Is there anything special they need to look out for when welding them?
