Good to see it up and running bro! Cant wait to see a couple vids. Let me know how that 76mm feels when you finally get in it,thinking of getting a Comp 76 from Jeremy.

Will do, I'll have to take a trip to Mexico for those runs though...

I want to go turbo. Can't wait to see videos.

Based on pictures in Post 52 – I think you need to shorten the gap. At 10 psi run the gap at .032 – some go all the way to .025

I know i need to figure this thing out first but i can't help to think about my next move. I have the upgraded 3.73 gears in my car, which makes fur great acceleration, but turbos like taller gears, so what do you guys think about some 3.31 gears?

I agree, once it runs perfect then we can talk gear change. The 3.31 is great. You will be happy with the 3.73 because the 3v like to rev and hates the low RPMs – the 3.73 will get you to the sweat spot sooner.

Blow through, and that's what GMS provides with the kit, the SCT/ GMS BA2800, when i bought the kit, i read that some ppl were having problems with the maf readings bcs of "noise". So i bought a ba5k just I'm case from a forum member. Back then I didn't know one was the slot style and the old one is a lightning style maf, i thought i was going to just bolt it in. I was expecting to get some readings at least with the old maf, Eric Brooks mentioned that tuned these kits before andadvised me to just leave it all as is and if I had problems then move it. So if the ba2800 doesn't work, I'll just get a vmp slot style maf tube, cut part of my cold side and replace it with the ba5k.

We offer slot style meters as well and a tube. If you plan to switch just let me know

I would just go ahead and do the conversion back to the slot style maf its a superior maf. There's a reason this kit is isn't very popular for the 3v. Good luck with it! Hopefuly you get these last details ironed out soon and get the car up and running!

We sold over 150 kits from mid ’05 to early ’07 so 18 months. After that like 6 more guys jumped into the market and sold 60mm turbo kits for like $2999 to $3750. Our kits sell for $7,000 so that might be a reason for declining sales. Then Turbonetics got stuck with like 100 kits so they called all our traditional type customers like Summit and Jegs and sold kits for about $2,000 from what I am told. That really set us back. In total we have shipped 273 kits according to the inventory system over the last 7 years with no advertsing to speak of at $7,000 a kit. As a comparo we sell about 10 TT Camaro kits a month and we’ve been doing that since February 2010. So when you say its not popular is it because the tuners have trouble or the price is too high? Lastly, everyone agrees the BA2400 and BA2800 are still the most stable, accurate and repeatable meters around. The BA5000 has not proven to be as repeatable and some guys that send mail order tunes are leary of them for that reason. We sell a slot in style meter that is very stable because it comes direct from Hitachi and must maintain the same quality and OE spec as the other meters

The previous owner had a 18# springs in the wastegate, so it seems like he was running serious hp with the cats. I may delete/gut them later, I wanted to see how the car ran with them on first, since you can't un-gut them, lol.

18lbs – you might want to start at like 7 and get a hold of things before going for the throat

Just moved it around my yard to turn it around, and just revving it to about 3k rpm and it goes from 25vac to 5 vac, but doesn't build boost, bov doesn't sound off, this is not with the car under load. Is this normal? Is raining so I can't drive it right now, the front end is exposed. I still have the "high flow" cats in place, could that be the problem? Also, after the car warmed up, i checked the compressor blades and they spin freely, but there's a little bit of shaft play, doesn't touch the housing, it's very little but it's there. Any thoughts?

Not sure which BOV you have? You won’t hear it until you get at least 4 or 5 psi in the tubes before it opens. There is longer explanation but that is the short quick answer. The video above shows the valve open and close – is that the one you have?

Ok I Just read HKS Sequential BOV – still same answer

Also I see 39lb inj – you will need bigger injector if you plan on running big boost – 39 x 8 / .55 is 567 crank hp worth of fuel. If you get the pressure up to 60psi its good for 650 crank HP.

As I go down all the posts I see you got your BOV thing worked out

Alright guys, just made my first drive around town and put about 50 miles on it, this is still my first drive tune. Other than the exhaust fume smell, its awesome! I'm not sure if I said this already but i had 91 octane gas in my car before the install (gas station was out of 93, no choice but to get 91). So before my wot pull/log, I need to burn this half tank of fuel, then get some fresh 93 in it and go on to the next log. You can get into the gas very easy and drive it like it was n/a, or get on the gas a bit more and it just squats and goes. I'll post a vid of it soon!

I would think the fumes are stemming from the raw fuel that was in the pipes and soaked into everything - once you make a few Bonzi runs at WOT - you will burn off that stuff....i hope:naughty1:

Ok, thanks JR, as far as the gap on the plugs, i set them at .32, i removed one of the springs in the wg, so I'm only running the 6# spring with a boost controller set wide open right now.

Thanks Mike! Just went grocery shopping, put some fresh 93 in her and went boosting, all the way to 4psi, lol. Not even at wot either. Can't wait to make my wot 8# run. See ya Saturday!

Well - please put a boost gauge on it to confirm what the "real" Manifold pressure is

Yes sir! My wife loves it, so I'm already trying to talk to her about a forged 302...

When it comes time to purchasing an engine we can do that as well.. I am just buttoning up a 2008 Saleen with 12psi Whipple - should have dyno video and numbers by next Friday

Which boost Controller are you using? and im jealous of your progress!!

Hallman manual boost controller, I have it wide open right now, so its just running off the wg spring, its a 5.7# spring, I also have a 13# spring but that's way too much.
JR- I have a boost, afr and fuel psi gauges, just haven't looked at it while I'm in boost to know how much I've pushed. It had a peak function to tell me max boost, I'll check it later.
Jaye- I'll see what I can do, lol

Oh okay. Im going to be running the 6lb plus the 2lb in mine. I thought about adding a Turbosmart Eboost Street electronic controller at somepoint though. That way I could just put the 2lb or something in there and turn it up to whatever I felt lol

^^Last spring I added the +2lb spring in my wastegate and went from 6lbs to 11lbs. Be careful and keep an eye on the boost gauge. I am running a hallman knockoff MBC now to add the 2lbs.
