Hey all, unfortunately times and circumstances are dictating that I'm looking at selling the stang. I could really use the money, and simply don't have the time to enjoy it or take care of the little issues that crop up from time to time with heavily modded cars. I don't need money ASAP so looking around for a buyer is fine. I also don't have the time to return the car to stock. I know I'll be losing a lot there, but it's just not possible, as I'm currently in my first year in law school.

Here is a list of mods (I have spec sheets for a sale thread but generally listed for now to get an idea of what it's worth)

2005 Mustang GT - black on black, leather interior ~55,000 miles; 0 track time :(

Stock block, bored .020
Stock stroke eagle forged crank and rods
Manley pistons (not sure exact dish, comes out to about 9:1 compression)
Arp side bolts and head studs
Pa performance alternator
Techco supercharger - dual drive 8 rib setup @14#
Other misc motor parts, don't have the build sheet in front of me now
Was told it was good for 800+ hp at this point

Spec steel flywheel
Spec stage 3+ clutch
Dynatech aluminum driveshaft
Mgw short shifter

Roush vent pod
Roush boost gauge (newer style)

Kooks headers w catted x
Borla stinger catback

Frpp dual pump
I honestly don't remember what injectors are in it. I'd have to dig through some receipts.
Hto plugs

Bmr panhard, springs
Che uca, lcas
Steeda blue shocks and struts

CDC blackout panel
Multiple layers of sound deadening material in the cabin and trunk
^brand is raamat; great stuff
Agent 47 grill

Sve anthracite dd 03 cobra wheels
Tires are Falken Azenis (sp?) I think. 255/45, 295/40; plenty of life there
Pioneer double din head unit (not a screen)
^does have an aux USB input going to armrest box, for music play and charging, is Bluetooth ready for calls, is xm radio ready. Not sure about the exact model without checking.

I removed the stock spoiler and plugged the holes, but I still have the stocker as well as an unpainted CDC ducktail spoiler that I didn't end up putting on.

I'm probably forgetting something, but that's the gist of it. I honestly haven't had time to think about the car in so long, and some of the details are escaping me.

Now for the not so good.
The windows have that typical factory tint scratching on the inside pretty bad.
The ds mirror is a little loose. I'll probably replace that.
The rear ds quarter is still damaged from a side swipe, not terribly, but its there. I was quoted at 600 to get that fixed, and may do so before selling.
Lastly, the ds lumbar adjuster is internally broken, as happens.

The paint is in ok condition, but would be given a lot of attention prior to any sale.

On a good note, the car puts down ~450 at the wheels on 93 oct. the system just produces too much heat to do any more.
The good part is that on e85, it put down a solid 530rwhp, without over taxing any of the fuel system.

As it sits, I've been thinking 18k would be very fair. If I fixed the above points, I'd probably ask 19.5.

What do y'all think is appropriate for an asking price without really seeing it?

Stock in MINT condition it would sell for 10-13

9-11k since its messed up. Fix it to where it is perfect and maybe, maybe 15k to the right buyer.

I got $18,500 for my '07 with 19k miles LAST APRIL and the paint was IMMACULANT!!!!! It would bring even less now, much less probably.

You're likely going to take a bath on yours. I would part out what you could and sell/trade the car in total stock form unless you find an individual that'll give you what you need for the mods and the car together.

You're not going to like what you hear. The 5.0 has killed the market for 3v's. 2005 GT's are going for about $7000 in average condition at the wholesalers. Given your body damage and the fact that you have a SC that is from a company out of business, I would say, if you fix the damage, you would be lucky to get $10,000. That would be if you bring the condition of the car up to really nice and you find the right buyer.

I'm not in a rush to sell, but there's no way to get it in stock form. I don't mind waiting for the right buyer. I would be fine with 15k, but that's really as low as I'm willing to go for a car with a built motor. The paint isn't bad at all, just needs some work from being outside a lot, which would be done before a sale.

Are similar cars in the classifieds of this site that much off their mark?

I gave $11k for my 06 in mint condition with 49k miles. I'd much rather have mine for $11k than yours for $15k. Even 13-14k wouldn't be worth it since no one knows how well the engine work was done. It could be a ticking time bomb. You're going to lose to your ass on it OP. modding cars that heavily is a money pit.

You have to find the right buyer. IMO it will be very hard to sell a car with that supercharger on it.

If I was in your shoes I'd look up fair market value through nada, kbb, and edmunds. Advertise in craigslist for that value and deal with the flakes who call. I'd think that would be your best bet on finding someone who just wanted a car to play with that already had the work done. It's doubtful you would get more than what a stock car would bring.

You could also put it up for auction on ebay and take your chances.

Just to clarify, the engine work was done by a respected shop, not by me. I do see your point, though I know that my target buyer is not an average consumer.

As far as the money pit bit, of course it is. 20k wouldn't begin to recoup shit on what's in it, but I've already come to terms with that. Going back to stock would mean both sourcing stock parts and paying someone to do the work, since I no longer have the time.

The blower poses the biggest problem, really. If I removed it, I'd have to find a buyer there, and source stock engine components or another power adder, the latter of which I don't have the money for. In the former situation, the car would be "blower ready" but that limits potential buyers, as well.

The price I came up with originally was based on similar ads in our classified section that seemed successful.

All markets are regional. Advertise on carsoup and others. Central TX must be ground zero for low prices. Mustangs sell for much more up here in MN.

I make my living selling cars, your wrong. Attitude is everything when trading and selling. Not saying central TX doesn't have a lower market, miles on Mustangs tend to run lower up North and that is reflected in the values.

Good luck with the sale OP...at least fix the body damage to maximize profits.

Or enlist weather man. He surely knows what he's doing.

If your convinced your car isn't worth anything, you will be right.

How long ago was that and were you buying a car from them? Usually if they give more on your trade in they take less off the price of the new car.
