ok.

I also noticed that Cruzin2much put his at the top off of the cage--which is pretty sweet also, but my cage isn't set up like that so I will probably stick to the emergency brake location.

ha hes lazy and hasnt put the chute on yet :roflmao:

Hes got the bar just hasnt gotten around to hooking it all up.

The cable mount that the cable goes through right before getting to the parachute--it seems to me because of the hard turn the cable needs to make, I need to mount that a few inches behind the chute, like pictured below, to allow more room for the cable to turn. I think I am simply going to make a tubular spacer 2 to 3 inches long to accomplish this. I check the rules, and it needs to be no further then 12 inches from the back of the chute.

How did you guys do it?

Everyone feel free to comment--once I complete this on Sunday, I will post the pictures and stuff, then go through and delete the odds and ends so just the tech stuff remains.

I was thinking of putting the handle on the forward bar along the roof. Seems more natural, like adjusting the rear view mirror (if that makes sense)

What you can do is use a small rod and bend it the way you need it (lowes sells small steel rod that you can bend but still rigid. Then use a really small hose clamp to hold it to the rod.

i dont have a close up but this might give you the idea

I would strap yourself in like your making a pass when deciding where to mount the chute handle. I liked mine up high so I could just swat it with my hand. Its a little nerve wracking the first time you pull the chute, but you'll get used to it. Did you figure out how to pack it yet?

Haha--yeah I am practicing that now.......a sheet explaining how to do that came with the Simpson chute. I should probably scan that and include that in the write up.

Honestly I think the easiest way is to ask someone if you can give them a hand with theirs after a pass. Most guys would be happy to show you how to do it(not hard, just a little awkward at first).

Yep, I learn by doing much easier vs reading instructions....

So the parachute bracket now holds the bumper?

The JPC support is off?

yes. I suppose I could have kept it on, but the bumper feels solid, its doesn't move at all.

From the pics it doesn't look like it would fit with the chute bar.

I think it would fit, since it goes low and the bar comes across at the bottom of the license plate---where as the chute mount is in the center of the license plate.

While I had the rear bumper cover off, I thought it was a good time to get rid of some excess rubber build up:
