The factory axle tubes are pinned to the center section. In lieu of a brace, you can have your local shop weld the tubes to the center section. I did it to mine. Here's a picture I found on Google:

This is great, IF you have a shop that knows what they are doing and places them on a jig and knows how to warm it up then cool it back down slowly etc... its a little sensitive. you can actually weaken the tubes rather than strengthening them if you do it wrong..

And that's why bolt on parts are cool, personally I am not taking the chance it comes out right.

Fullboogie, have you checked out my 145 gazillion page thread about welding them in the drag race section?

I have, Kelly, and it's one of the reasons I decided to have mine welded. That and the fact that most of the high hp GT500 guys have done it. That was a great thread, by the way - thanks.

I have a CHE one. BMR doesn't make one or I'd have theirs. I also have a steeda watts link because BMR doesn't make one of those! I do have BMR A-arms and K-member.

Kelly,

We're trying to pad your bonus check and you seem to be resisting.
Do you not like 6 figure bonus checks, or what?

:asshat:

LOL!

On a serious note, Kelly...
You and I have discussed the $1000's in suspension parts sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. The reason I haven't moved forward...axle tubes. Nobody in my area, to my knowledge, can do the job. If this part was available from BMR, my shit would be on my car and not in the floor.

So you guys know it will be a while before they come up with anything assuming they do.

Plans? Gonna stay away from the track now? Weld em? Replace your brackets and get someone else's brace?

I just bought a CHE one and I don't even drag race. I'm just stupid and like to spend money on things I think are cool. I think my car is too low to use it for jacking up too, lol.

BMR, you make it and I'll probably be silly enough to buy it just because. Imagine the guys who would actually use it for what it's for would pay?!?

Me too. I got scared looking at this thread and ordered a che with bolts for my frpp girdle. This year I have alot more power and 15" drag radials. I'm anticipating more traction and speed. 5 point roll bar will probably be the next purchase and project. If the interior comes out then I'm putting another 50lbs or so of dynamat in. Can't have too much noise reduction on a hot rod.

Okay that's it!

BMR doesn't want anymore of my money then I'm just going to weld my tubes with the rear end gutted and on a jig like it should be done.

J/K :hi:

Oh yea, I did that two years ago... :thumb:
