Did I hear right that there are now 2 Ford racing blacks that have been damaged?

I presume you mean the new FRPP Sportsman block.

Heh, "blacks".

I'm not going to say who I was told broke them, as they haven't said anything publicly, it's up to them. I guess block filler is now on the menu. It would be interesting to hear if any CJs have had this problem since they would all be on gas instead of E85.

I did. Something about leaking coolant on one and still pushing out cylinders on the other.

^ correct

I'll say this much. Based on what I know, I will no longer be chasing the 1000whp mark. I am going to sit tight at the 750-800s and call it a day so it lives a while.

MMR sleeved block is a option as well. They have been 7.0 with it.

If by 7.0 in the 1/4 is what you are referring too? In the blue car? That block is not a street use block, IIRC it's at least half filled if not more, it's a strictly race car block

wow thats crazy. No sense in building 1000 rwhp if you can only get a handful of passes out of it. The 3V blocks never had this problem, correct? Just the new coyote block? I remember taking pictures of a broken coyote a couple years ago when it failed, but at a lower hp level.

I guess if this is true, (that 2 of the new blocks have already failed) that a filled block is the only way to go for that power level. Bye-bye street car though.

Hmm this kind of discouraging ... Was hoping to see good results from the new block...

I think the best way to go when hunting down big power is sleeves. Period.

Or buy a Supra... LOL! Wait, what? :popcorneat:
