I have K springs and checked mine yesterday. Found out my car was riding on the bumpstops at ride height. I promptly cut them in half. Rides 100x better now.

Agree! I cannot believe I went this long being lowered and not cutting them. Did it today after changing the oil. Huge difference in the ride, 100 times better!!!!!

What can you use to cut them? (I have few cutting tools) I have never checked mine since I put my K springs on and my car rides pretty rough sometimes! And the road to my work is pretty rough which makes it worse!

It worked great. I had the car up on the lift so it made it a lot easier. I have an 08 and its been lowered shortly after I got it new. My car rides so much better. I can't believe the huge improvement.

So thats my issue...

This whole time since I installed the Steeda Sport springs, I thought I got the wrong springs because they seem to be too "soft". I could feel I was bottoming out and hitting the bump stops. I could feel the rear compress, then it a wall...basically once it hit that wall, it would eject me from my seat.

Now, the only issue I have with cutting my bump stops is that it will increase the suspension travel and I have passenger side over axle exhaust tube clearance issues.

I will be definitely hitting the pipes now!!! sigh

Why can't I find a decent exhaust shop. sigh

Thanks for this thread!! I was thinking these Sport springs where not a good choice.

For custom exhaust work, call Josh at Auburn Muffler and let him know that I sent you there.

I have steeda sports and cut my stops along time ago. During hard cornering auto xing I don't nearly get enough travel to hit the OA pipes. How close are yours to the axle?

Well, its due to a local shop that installed a couple of resonators and they somehow fudged up my passenger OA pipe because at stock height bump stop contact, my axle tube contacts the pipe.

Not to mention, my Watts Link frame contacts the pipe. I have the pipe wrapped to prevent it come rattling and hitting the frame.

Thus my frustration with local shops and their quality of work...lack of attention to detail. The driver side is fine, plenty of clearance.

I thought about ordering a set of 2011 OA pipes from Lethal that are supposed to have a deeper arch over the pipes...but not sure if they would work on s 2005-2009 model.

LMR sells pypes over axle pipes for like $150. Alternatively, the pipes are about that much a piece from the dealer. You could get a new oem one for the passenger only.

I have the pypes on my car and they hit the axle before I got everything welded up. Could be because I have the turbo kit. The bends just seem very minor

The OEM over axle pipes have flat-spots shaped into them.

Gerald, consider the Roush Extreme exhaust - built-in resonators, no flat spots, and it fits perfectly. The only issue is you need custom exit pipes made for your S3 rear fascia.

I solved any over axle pipe issues by running dumps, and saved weight.

Man up and just do it!:highfive:

Been there done that... Remember??? lol

I called ROUSH and asked how much for just the axle over pipes, same price as full kit. sigh

I really need to find a better exhaust solution. My current exhaust tone/sound is perfect. Just need better routing.

How did this topic skew BTW... lol
We were talking about bump stops. lol
