What happened to your concrete?
It was removed with all of the other debris...

Hey..it's concrete day!
Yes it is... and everything is done except the garage!!

They need to let the adjoining concrete set up for a little while, then they can pull the forms and pour the garage. I'll be headed back over there in a few to see that.

Pics to come later! :thumb:

Today was a serious milestone for us. More than 15 months after the fire, we got our foundation poured!!!

I was told late yesterday that they would start sometime between 7:00am and 9:00am. I arrived a little after 7:00, and I could see the concrete pumper truck boom over on the next block, so I knew it would be a while. A few minutes after 9:00am, the pumper truck rolled up. About 6 hours later, I left the site. They were basically done, and were just waiting on the inspector to arrive.

I snapped over 100 pics (and shot some video). Here are 10 photos that show how things went.

After pouring the main slab, all that was left was the garage. They needed to let the adjoining concrete set up for a little while, then they could pull the forms and pour the garage.

Congratulations Don and Donna! Before you know it, there will be wood framing going up everywhere!

When I went by the site this afternoon, I found out that the concrete forms had been removed, and the site had been cleaned up and graded. It actually looked pretty nice, and was much easier to walk around on.

I don’t expect much to happen for a week or two at least. They did tell me that the framing was next, but it definitely won’t start next week. These are the framing tasks we will see happening.

• Snap Lines
• Plate
• Spread Headers and Cripples
• Frame Walls
• Plumb and Line
• Set Beams
• Floor Joist
• Floor Sheeting
• Snap Lines Second Floor
• Plate Second Floor
• Spread headers and Cripples Second Floor
• Frame Second Floor
• Plumb and Line Second Floor
• Set Beams Second Floor
• Load Trusses
• Install Trusses
• Install Fascia
• Sheet Roof

Looking good Don. I grew up in the construction business, and a worksite that looks like that ususally tells you that the builder is a quality one. It may seem rather small, but companies, and crews that that take care of the project site usually have high standards.

That's good to know! :thumb:

I've never seen one in the Southwest.
