Took off my calipers and dropped them off at the powdercoaters. Also started ordering suspension parts...

I know exactly what you are talking about. However in todays market you can't make a car like that any more. why make the super cool package if you can't charge for it. and most people are not going to buy a stripped Z28 when there is a RS/SS right next to it that cost less and has power windows/seats/air/ect.

some people would pay more for a car with less, but not many. And if they make it cost less than the RS/SS then why bother from a profit standpoint.

this is why the GT-Boss-GT500 options and pricing are staggered the way they are.

oh yeah, another reason why you can't have a lightweight stripper Z28.....corvette. corvette is the reason why a lot of cool things just did not happen with F bodys and was related to the demise of the fiero and Buick GNX.

Well maybe in the past I might have purchased a (Stripper) for "Performance".

But not these days and I sure ain't going to buy anything without A/C.

It is just to damn Hottttttttt in the summers now.

I'd buy a stripped down version of a Mustang, but not pay more than a regular GT. It's better than buying a GT Premium (like most of us) and then eventually stripping it down for racing. LOL

Cam, your Bullitt looks good, what kind or work does it really need?

What I did today, installed front and rear sway bars, removed my rear seat delete and trunk carpet to do some designing of my planned X-brace and support braces for my harness bar.

Still wouldn't buy a Camaro though. We may add another Corvette, though. I'm beginning to like them too much.

I'm in the same boat, 2 years ago I wouldn't take a Vette if you dropped it in front of me. Now I love driving them.

Oh jeez - Here is some of my list I can remember:

-3M Clearbra needs to be removed on the front and then the fenders, bumper and hood need to be repainted
-Wiring needs to be fixed that causes the FOB to short out when you press unlock. This occured after I had the aftemarket alarm disconnected.
-Needs new swaybar endlinks
-1 of the front lower control arms may be damaged, I'll replace both with the GT500 ones
-Rear decklid needs to be repainted
-Throttlebody needs to be replaced
-Shifter needs to be replaced. The stock shifter linkage makes the car seem like it has 8 gears.
-Needs all the fluids replaced - Engine, trans, rear
-Needs a thorough inside and out cleaning.
-Removal of window tint
-etc, etc, a lot more too.

It's a PITA but I do enjoy a good project and I think if I can hold tight and get the car back to pristine (in my eyes) then I'll get over this feeling of wanting to sell it.

Once I finish up the vert and get it home, then I hope to break ground on the work. I am looking to pull the engine and clean basically everything, wire tuck, possibly tear down the block and build it moderately for the future as well as upgrade whatever I can with the engine out.

Cam ...

All that seems very doable for sure.

Then jump in and follow-up with the other areas you want to change.

I know it goes against everything this forum represents, but you can always hire a shop to do all the work you don't want to.

Love the new sig line! LOL.

What's wrong with the Exedy?

Nothing at all. I just don't like the peddle stiffness and I didn't like the engagement. Hard to explain exactly but just a personal preference thing. It held my power no problem.

Seems like the plan - get the "musts" out of the way and go from there. Sounds like I'll be reviving a build thread soon.

I have access to my own shop, and while it is time consuming, the reward factor and feeling of doing this stuff myself is great.

Just looked at the 3V and it has just been annoying me lately. I've been brainstorming a plan with it and I'm afraid I'll never get the car the way I want. It needs a lot of work, and it's annoying at this moment.

So I've been secretly looking at a 07/08 Saleen, 2012 GT or a 2013 Camaro 1LE to replace it with. Go ahead grill me for the thoughts of getting a car with a bowtie.

Unless you're really racing it, and want to put in a class... I'd think your 500 is faster/comfier, than trying to mess with a similar car.

imo if you want another toy, go way different, get a classic muscle car or 4x4 (early bronco, CJ), or classic luxo-barge

BMR or GTFO!

Just noticed this happened to my relo bracket. Not sure what brand they were. I've got a set of BMR brackets waiting to go on.

Tried to locate the source of the squeak in the rear suspension to no avail. Ended up spraying lithium grease where the parking brake cables come in contact with the LCA's in hopes that it's the source of the noise. I won't be that lucky.

Ordered GT500 Strut Mounts so that I can finally install my STR.T's, Steeda Sports and Freedom Racing Adj PH Bar. I hesitate to install this shit on my own (well, with my son who is a mechanic) but I'm too cheap and proud to let anyone else do it.

I'd be calling or sending them a nice email......
