Now I know it is expensive to replace the stock/shaker system in outs cars, but after you have a head unit in, it is 100x better.

With the new harness that Kenwood offers, you can keep sync and everything. I have an aftermarket 7" in my 08, only real issue I ran into was the subs popping which was easily fixed with a 5v regulator seen here >https://www.sparkfun.com/products/107

Other then that, all you would need is a headunit and some wiring and your done. I have a writeup somewhere that someone else did if you would like it.

I have the Mustang and an Explorer. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and my wife an Iphone 4s. We can connect our phones in both cars with Sync and no problem.

I have had similar issues with sync in my 13. On various business trips I've had zero issues with other Ford vehicles with sync and other auto brands w/similar plug and play systems. The infamous "INDEXING" response still ruins my music experience while driving from time to time. Oh and I'm using an iPhone 4s.

The situation is different for everyone, I personally love the sync in my Moms Flex, but I hate the streaming of bluetooth and the indexing of music.

I hate how the infamous Indexing is like in our new Fords, I personally hate it for running music off the iDevices and Bluetooth streaming, my Father's 5 year old deck is still better then the new Ford Sync. It automatically reads whatever is playing on the iDevice without Indexing any information, same with Bluetooth, but I have never used bluetooth since I run a old ipod with all my music hooked up direct.

Amen, it should be that easy. Plug in the friggin iPod, and work with steering controls. I have never seen such a shitty implementation of iPod/iPhone direct controls.

I've been using Bluetooth since last week and its good. I'm still switching artists and albums on the phone though, and advancing tracks on the steering wheel.

Dumb.

But you are talking about Apple and Microsoft working together...does not happen well.
