First let me thank the guys at Mustang Collective for letting me join in at there private track rental! It was a blast!

I went to another track rental at MIR this past Friday to continue testing the Cobrajet intake manifold. Car is a 2014 Gt/CS A6, Fully loaded down to the navigation and power passenger seat. Only mods are

CJ intake manifold
SCJ Throttle body
Home made 5 inch CAI
JLT catch can (passenger side)
DSS one piece ds
Lethal off road H
Circle D 5C converter
Race star wheels (15x10 275/50/15)
BMR sway bar delete
E85

Suspension is still 100% stock short of the sway bar delete. Also still no weight reduction, spare tire still remains in the trunk.

We had some really good air this time, I was unable to run in the -1800da we had in the morning due to traction problems. I had no idea water would remain in the front valence after washing the car 3 days prior to this, point being i wasted the 3 possible best passes of the day (in that air i believe the car would have gone 11.0's)

After figuring out the above issue I was able to go a 11.163@122 with a -870da, after this I tried changing numerous things in the tune, where the converter locks, shift points, and few other things. I went backwards and slowed the car down a bit, But that is part of seeing what works and what does not, After 7-8 passes it did net a new best of 11.161@122 -385da. I am still getting a handle on tuning the E85 and after reviewing the data this weekend I think there is a bit more there just in the tune.

For a few hours my soon to be wife made her first passes ever down a track! After 8 passes she was able to net a [email protected]

The car made a total of 23 passes and never whimpered, only issue i had was it developed a horrible high speed vibration toward the middle of the day. (later found most of the wheel weights had come off)

There MAY be a 10 sec slip using this combo, I wont be able to get back and try for 2 more weeks to try, but we will see! Again, not trying to be the fastest, Just wanted to share:beer:

A few pics for now, I will update the thread later today with pics of all the time slips and videos of the runs!

nice work

gotta love running in negative DA!

sounds like the track officials dropped the ball on picking up the water coming off the car - that should have been seen after the first pass IMO

to be accurate the DS/Wheels are weight reduction in most racers views :2cents:

Keep up the good work

Thanks! The neg da is nice for sure. Yeh i agree on the water, But at the smaller track rentals the staff is very limited and pretty much we (the people running) have to keep a eye on things.

I agree that the wheels and DS is weight savings, But what i was getting at was no seats removed, axle weights, air bags, or anything that I did not list:beer:

Not since my last outing, switching back to the Boss intake. I made some suspension changes over this past weekend and may be back out this coming weekend pending my schedule.

Once I get the suspension dialed in a bit better (I think I can shave .03 off the 60') I'll put the CJ intake back on and see if I can squeeze another tenth or two out of it. :thumb2:

Holy crap! Well, you certainly got your monies worth on that TNT, didn't you?

As far as changing things and going backwards---I say thats a good thing as its validation of they way you had it was working.

Great ETs and mph.

What were your previous best times before the intake manifold and how much et do you attribute to the manifold? Does anyone make an air intake for the manifold? and how much do the manifolds cost? Are you going back to the track this year?

How much of a difference does running E85 make, power wise, compared to 92-93 octane?
I would like to get a tune from Mid-Atlantic Performance. I was looking on your website, an didn't see where you sold any tuners. How do I go about getting a tune from you Mike? Looking to get tuner and a tune in mid- December.

Pretty awesome passes for a stock-ish car!

Thanks!

The best time I had before the manifold was 11.63@116, I also added a one piece DS and the wheels at the same time as the manifold, So i really cant say what it picked up. From other testing i have done though it seems to be worth about a tenth over the Boss manifold ( different cars, different days).

That's moving out. !!

Thanks!

To be honest i dont think it is worth very much N/A at all. I did a back to back comparison on the dyno the other day with a different car. I seen about a 7hp increase with E85.

I will PM you the details on the tuning.

So maybe my method of just splashing in a few gallons to bump the octane up a little bit is good enough (once the stoich is changed to best utilize it), versus buying new injectors and getting a whole new tune? I was thinking of getting some injectors for Korn over the winter but maybe not.....
Also Mike, I got some Racestars! Hopefully I will do some wheelies next year, LOL.
