Are you power shifting in the last vid?

Those shifts are sick on those videos jason

Just WOT shifting, thats why the WOT box is soo crucial for turbo stick cars, no boost lost during shifting. I feel like I'm pretty quick.

Thanks Charlie.

RJ, what special equipment do you have to get this done. Do you have to have head pullers or anything like that. I don't have a bunch of special tools, just the basic stuff. I know the engine stand. What was so hard about the main caps? I've never torn into an engine like that so I don't know. Is this the first time you've done it?

To disassemble all you really need is an impact for the crank bolt and a harmonic balancer puller. The main caps were just hard because they are made to be a very tight fit so you have to try and pull both sides up evenly. Obviously on assembly you will need some more tools like torque wrenches, piston ring compressor, spring compressor, and I'm sure some other small things.

Yes this was my first time as well. If you go to the iihs.net website there is a manual for disassembly, assembly, tear down of a head, etc. I just did some reading ahead of time.

Looking good brother,im curently tearing mine down as well. Spun a bearing but while im in it,i may change these 8.5:1 compression pistons and go up some as well. My goal is 700rwhp on pump is possible, just now sure what compression would work. So im anxious to see how yours does.

I don't know if I'd go that low. I'd try to keep it between 9-10:1. I know bobby @ s&h made 700/700 with a livernois 298 bottom end with stock heads, cams, valve springs, etc on pump and 18 psi. It definitely can be done.

Coming along good RJ can't wait to see the finished product !!

Thanks man!

When i bought the shortblock the 8.5:1 pistons were already in there, now that i have spun a bearing, this will be the time to change them! Just gotta figure out what compression i want to got with.

CNC motorsports is a very competitive. Mod max is pretty good but doesn't have as much of a selection. If you want 9:1 to 10:1 mod max should have something but if you want higher than 10:1 they have nothing.
