Here we go. Glad you figured it out but no way in hell I'm buying your turbo kit to get it.

Who says it is figured out until it makes a pass down the track? Terry called it right to begin with. That is all that I have to say about it. :)

no hard feelings here. Wasn't expecting a mass of people to sell their stuff just to buy a brake. Don't worry, I don't expect to keep it for my customers only, forever

Right about what there Forest Gump? ( You had that coming ending your post like that LOL) I thought "all he wanted was a video?" Your assumption is as correct as his.

I'll take that however there is no assumption made. Everyone in the state of Missouri wants to see it in action. A video of some guy sitting in a car doesn't get it done in that state.

Now what everyone is interested in seeing is a 9 sec. pass @ 140+. Other power adder street cars have been there without a transbrake. Your kit shouldn't need one to do it right? :beerdrink:

Considering he fell ass first to a 10.3 on E50 and 7psi, nah, don't need it. The brake will simply be for making it faster, but not required. Told ya autos were easy ;)
So easy a caveman figures out the tbrake lol
What I'm interested in is knowing, if anyone else has done it on less than 8psi.
On 7-8psi I think he could be chasing the stock engine record when he's able to run pure E85 again. Put some damn timing back in it and get the 80+rwhp he's missing.

Tell Missouri I'll make them a short vid if they like. I'll stand on the outside of the car and control it remotely w the brake after I show the wrench light off. The converter in this car is too tight for anything else. Stall speed is the same on or off the brake. Weak ass 6cyl's lol. We can film the fun one when Chris gets his parts to make the changes to his car

Heh.

It will be interesting. If/when he gets it all together you have to tell him to make that requested run off the trans brake once. ;)

It's all heresy until it happens.

I like to make it happen then open it up for discussion.

We will see if Chris can get it all together. If he doesn't have the fuel system for e85 why not do it on pump unleaded? It may be easier to get the tune sorted out as well or maybe it will cause problems such as detonation under load. Throwing another variable in there with the trans brake when everything else isn't sorted out yet seems to be a recipe for more problems.

I think making the goals clear is best.
1. 8lbs. boost
2. Pump gas
3. 9 sec. pass @ 140+
4. Street legal
5. 3,800+lbs.

...for example.

Differentiation vs. the competition so Bob would want to buy this kit vs. X.

I'm missing something here. How does a quarter mile time confirm that a transbrake works? Is this a continuation of another discussion?

So launching a car on the t-brake making a full pass down the track doesn't confirm it works (not resulting in a trans failure)?

Tell me this is something anyone wouldn't be interested in seeing....

My comments in post #11 are about Chris getting his car sorted out and putting up a number. The concern was adding another variable before working through the other issues. :hi:

I'd think the launching part would confirm it, but that's me.

Somebody put the link to the original post cause I don't understand WTF is going on ? I thought the transbrake was the reason everybody was going to a Glide or TH400.

John, there's not much to understand really. It started on the short bus forum, so that says enough right there. You can tell it is the off season.

It's open for discussion, have at it.
Less than 8 psi
E85 or a mix depending on when I make his fuel system.
9 sec pass footbraking.
exh dumped up front

When he hits 9's, next goal is play w brake. Then ditch the small prototype intercooler for the base A/W unit. I think 9.7 is there on 7-8psi. Possible a touch more depending on the 60

I'd think the launching part would confirm it, but that's me.
I did a few but w the car I had it wasn't obvious it was on a brake. My test car was a 6cyl and on or off the brake it stalled to 2k and that's it. So a vid wouldn't have done much good. I did make a vid like I said I would though. Trying to get it off my damn phone

If I understand this correctly you (Dustin) are developing a transbrake for the 6 speed auto used in the Mustang. Is that correct?

That's right. A functioning brake is being tested. We were testing a few things and Chris decided to shoot a quick video.
There was some "speculation" on whether it worked because of the wrench light. So this video I made it clear the light is off and the brake clearly working. Next will be launching with the prototype device. I was in a bit of a hurry during filming. I was running behind. I still had to put the car back to stock and return it to Hertz before 5pm.
