I will try to explain as best as I can to my memory. This is going 6 months back, and I had 4 layaway deals going at the time. It's impossible for me to remember what exactly went on with pm's, phone calls, etc.. on deals that far ago.
First, I get a lot of pm's from people wanting pricing on stuff. And many times I will get 3 or 4 pm's in a row from people about stuff. In general, on the kits, I simply send the link so that they can price out the kit. There really isn't a need for me to work it up separate and pm a price, as the price is already there when you add all of the items to the cart. That is the price, and I offer a $100 discount by paypal gift, saves the fee and I pass it on.
I work on about a 6% margin, on these packages, it's about a 2% margin.
That's why most of the guys in the business hate me, as they don't like my pricing. I try to take care of the guys, get them more parts for the same money. So they can enjoy their hobby more.
At the time I started the layaway, I had down a tuner kit, standard bap, injectors and plugs.
The kit price, that we are talking about now is around $5900, then would have been around 5600. If I priced that particular setup at that price then, it would have been a mistake.
In my layaway folder, since the beginning, I had down a satin kit, injectors, standard bap, and plugs.
I can't remember if there were phone calls involved, etc.. It's simply too long ago
I usually send a final pm with all the items separate from the other pm's confirming the final price on what your buying. I have't seen that. I won't have any pm's from 6 months ago, as my box simply can't hold them.
If I had priced the kit at that originally, which I may have done, I really can't remember. I would have caught it with a final pm once I did the invoicing.
With that said. I told Ryan today, I would make up the difference minus $300 on the kit price. I thought that was more than fair, if it was indeed a final mistake on my part. That's me eating about $600 or so, at cost, making 0, to try to take care of a customer, that I may have made a mistake on.
It's pretty obvious, if you go to the cart, have all the items added, and it's $5700 and change, and I tell you $4700, something is a miss.
Everyone knows, I bend over backwards as much as I can to take care of people. I'm not getting rich by any means. I spend every minute of my spare time on the phone with guys, helping them out, answering questions, answering pm's , answering fb messages.
I have never cut someone out of .01 of there money. And I never will. I offered a full refund right out of the gate if there was a mistake made.
I'm trying my best, and I'm sorry if in this case it wasn't good enough.
