Hell yah! Dude I'm so excited to see this running. All I know is that you better have some incar footage and some wot pulls.

I'm tempted to work on it today. If I do, everyone is gonna bust out laughing since I'm wearing a tie and dress slacks.

Cam, did you ever have contact with your wheels when they were spaced out? I'm wanting to throw some 1 inch spacers all the way around, lowered on BMR springs.

Never had a problem. I had Sportline springs on it.

1" is too much. I had Cam's old 5/8" spacers on my 09 and they were about perfect. 7/8" would be the max I'd go with.

Jeff the ones I gave you were 7/8" same ones I just reordered. I ran 1" in the rear back in 2010, with the H&R 1" kit. Terry/tigerhonaker ran that kit on all four corners with no problems.

Yeah, I'm just not OK with paying almost $300 for some chunks of aluminum.

It's tough, but the quality of this kit is superb.

So I stripped down to my undershirt and got to work on the demolition.

First removed the steering wheel. This is what happens to the clock-spring on the steering wheel when you are as absent minded as I am. I spun the steering shaft around like a thousand times while fidgeting during the install of the BMR K-member. I'm a jackass.

After disconnecting many of the wires and such around all around the dash (a lot) I unbolted it and with my bone-crushing strength I dismounted it.

Had a major headache so I called it quits for the evening. I'll be back tomorrow to continue and I also need to check the GT500 body harness to make sure it is equipped with ambient lighting.

This is probably the most disorganized my car has ever been. Lol

Nice progress. It's too late now, but that steering column didn't need to come out separately. I left mine attached to the dash and pulled it all out together. The key was still hanging in the ignition.

Also, to get the heater box out, you'll have to disconnect the main a/c line in the engine bay at the firewall (yes, the one directly behind the lower intake manifold. You have about 1 inch to work with), as well as the two coolant lines at the heater core.

Thanks for the heads up. Getting that ac plug off behind the engine was a pain in the ass but thank goodness I have thin hands.

That dashboard is a lethal death trap though. You get your hand or arm stuck in it the wrong way, game over. The edges are razor blades.

Thanks fellas. If there is one thing that I've taught myself it is patience and attention to detail.

Looked up the harness on the computer this morning and while it does not say ambient lighting or not, the diagram does show the connectors to the cupholder ambient lighting, therefore it should be good to go and to addition to that it is a harness up to early model year 2009 (model year 2009 Ambient lighting and sirius radio were standard equipment). I just didn't want to unravel that new harness and be stuck in the water. I'll probably get to yanking the rest of the old harness out today and get started on the new harness.

One thing that I know is a PITA will be unplugging the body harness to the door harnesses.... Sam, how the F did you do that? Lol

Oh shit. I think I had blocked that traumatic part of my life. Um, I don't really have any advice. That was THE worst part of my whole conversion. They suck huge sweaty donkey balls. I have big hands though, and my meat cleavers had a hard time getting in there to disconnect/reconnect them.

If you're not afraid of pulling your fenders off, that would be the easiest way to access them. I had pulled the fenders off my donor car, and they were cake to remove, but reconnecting them in my car with the fenders on was a serious pain. I really think if I had to do it again, I'd pull my fenders off. Maybe there's an easier way, but I couldn't figure it out.

Progress report. Fucked up my hand major time with the door harness connection. Did the driver side and half the passenger side done. Took a break because I was about to take a gun to the car.

trying to remove the Evap box with the engine still in the car was not much better. I almost wanted to round house kick the car off the lift. Just need to undo the door harness and it's done... Then time to put it back together. This has to be the worst part of this swap, period.

Try getting your hand down there past the ac line with a wrench. You will appreciate life so much more when you accomplish this task.
