As much as we want to be going for that "quickest coyote" record, we decided to take our coyote heads up racing this year.

NMRA's newest class coyote modified is where we are at.

For those that don't know, it's a limited power adder class.

Engine / heads can be anything you want with a coyote, as long as it's 305 or under.

Nitrous - 2900lbs - as much as you can shove in it.
Turbo / Centri - 3250 - limited to inducer size / inlet diameter / turbo size / air to air
PD Blower - 3450 - 2.9 or smaller, stock throttle body, air to water

We opted for the Vortech obviously, which is the new TI Trim blower. It is their revamped version of the T Trim. It fits size wise between the JT and V3 superchargers.

Trans was swapped to a Glide as well. For the first race in Bradenton, we figured out the converter is about 2000 rpms too tight. The boys at ATF are fixing one up for us that should take us up towards the top of the pack.
We were lucky enough to make it to the finals and runner up though, with a hole shot win in the semi finals, putting us 2nd in points after the first race.

Should be a pretty exciting season.

The car ran a best of 9.33@151. That was with a 1.51 60'. With the new converter we are hoping for low 1.3's to high 1.2's and some 8.9's to 9.0's. Along with a few other tweeks, hopefully some 8.7's to 8.8's.

In addition, at the race we unveiled a new look on the car for the season. The guys at Vortech / Stainless Works / Exedy / UPR Products and Finish Line Performance all came on board for another season and a fresh look.

Based on this Quote, care to tells us about a specific car?

"Nitrous - 2900lbs - as much as you can shove in it."

Cool, so I gotta ask.. still drive it to work sometimes?

Right now it has a filled block. So no. We are waiting on the new sportsman block, and then yes, we'll be driving her again.

The nitrous cars are allowed 2 stages of nitrous. There weight only has to be 2900lbs. So far, strictly ran a 9.1 on 1 stage of nitrous at about 185lbs heavy at the first race.

he hadn't had enough time to test the 2nd stage. the trick will be how much nitrous can you shove in. he has a 350 shot set up on the 2nd stage, the question will be, how effective will that be?? another .2 or .3, or another .6 or .7

it could be that the car simply won't take that much more, that's what the nmra thinks, we shall see probably at the next race.

bbr's car is well under the 2900lbs, and is adding ballast. but the tune was way off and they only were hitting 12's most of the weekend, not sure what they ran first round, maybe a mid 10

Wait, what??? A BBR car made it down the track?

All kidding aside is it their car or a customer's car?

The car used to belong to a friend/customer. It was an old FFW Street Warrior Car. In Warrior it was a bad ass car. One of the top 3 consistently.

When FFW did away with that car it got parked. Over the past few years it was evidently purchased by Chris at BBR and converted recently to Coyote Modified.
