Okay, someone give me the brief rundown on the Stages.

Saw a GT today with Roush exhaust, Roush side emblems, Roush windshield banner, stock GT truck emblem. I'm GUESSING, it's a stock GT with a couple of Roush add-ons, would that be correct? Don't the real Roushs come with the emblems saying Stage 1, 2 or 3?

Just wondering. I DO pay attention to some details.

I am reasonably sure you are correct with that assumption.

Okay, I thought so too, and was trying to stop short of calling the dude a poser. But that's what my first instinct was.

stage 3 adds the power aspect

Could very well have been a Stage 1. Did you see the trunk emblem up close? The only place they say "Stage X" is on the fake gas cap.

I like the Roushes, I just wish they'd drop that awfull fake hoodscoop.....I heard a Stage 3 is actually faster around a track than a GT500 because of the better suspension and lower weight, and better weight balance, even if its lower on HP

Does it refer to political affiliation? Shouldn't the bleedin' heart democrats be pink?

Sorry for the hijack...the description of the stages above is accurate.

Yes, and it said GT, just like mine does. He was driving 'spiritedly' around me and I was smart enough to not engage in that area. Been rousted enough along Spring Cypress.

There is a roush sport that doesn't have the whole body kit. Sounds like that is what you saw or a poser. I love the way my stage 2 handles. The gt500 are pigs, iron block, and a ridiculously detuned from the factory.

Yeah my buddys brother bought a stage 3... then he gangstered (a word?) it out with different suspension, 22" rims, tvs and subs all through it. I was pretty upset with him, but hey he paid for the car. He wants to run me sometime.

Would have been fun to watch though.

Yeah, for you maybe.....and I still need a new clutch, so there will be no hammering on the Stang for quite awhile.

Saw the dude again this morning. I seriously wanna catch him at a light and roll down the windah and ask him about it...

Depending on the model year, it could be an actual Roush Sport. That model was the level below the Stage 1. They offered the body kit and a windshield banner, and nothing more. Real Roush though, just all the trim and no puddin'.

It is probably a Roush Sport. Majority of 2005's were Sports.

The only difference between a Sport and a Stage 1 is the Sport still has the GT emblem on the trunk and the stock GT wheels. The Stage 1 comes with the Roush wheels and Stage 1 on the trunk emblem. Both can be ordered with the same exterior and interior trim.

If you want to know if a car is a real Roush enter the last 6 digits of the VIN here.
http://www.roushperformance.com/vin_search.cgi It will tell you how it came from Roush. Some Roush dealers will add some body pieces and sell the car as a real Roush. Often the owner is unaware it is not real. Check the VIN to be sure.

I saw a video that showed the Roush being a better performer than the Saleen. They said the 20 inch rims on the Saleen was the biggest downfall.

This is correct. Also, I believe that 90% of all the sport packages also came with the roush interior (seats, gauge cluster, pedals)

In 2005 - the only difference between the sport and stage 1 was wheels and trunk emblem.

Also - the Roush sticker and serial number is in the passenger side door well.

Thers also the aspect of what the dealers do once they get the car. At least thats what i assume. I happen to own a 06 roush stage 1 with roush body kit, interior, gauges, floor mats, shifter, stage 1 on dash and trunk and its got roush springs and get this its got a roush door sticker and its got a roush supercharger and i bought it from the ford dealer. I was confused too
