Smoked some fool on this snorkeling trip with my wife and I in the Domincan who owns a handful of Vettes. Wasn't even close.

I should probable mention that we were bench racing...

Boogered nuts on exhaust studs for mid pipe, hope the nut is softer material and took all the damage so can just replace those and not the studs

That is probably true since I'm getting on an airplane to San Diego for a week and leaving the wife home.

Thanks Mike@MAP for the good deal. Should wake the car up.

Fucking felt like kicking the door in just now. I had gotten my Pypes offroad X pipe in yesterday and straight after work I decided to load the new offroad tune onto my xcal so I can install the midpipe. Well I jack the car up, jack stands under it, take the battery off, tray out, disconnect 02 sensor, and then get under it to begin taking off the driver side nuts from the stock midpipe. Got the first one loose, then was going to move onto the top driver side one. I couldn't find any fucking rotating wrench, socket that was long enough, etc to get a hold of the nut on that stud. I looked through all my tools and couldn't find what I needed to get to that one. I know I've done this before since I've changed out stock midpipe a few times, with the last one being when I removed my longtube headers. I got so fucking mad, I gave up, tightened the one I loosened, plugged 02 sensor back, tray back, battery back, jack stands off, car on the ground, backed it out of the garage and gave up. WHAT AM I MISSING HERE??? I have a rotating swivel connector, and most size sockets. What size socket do I need?? I had a long 15mm one but couldn't use the handle since it wouldn't give me enough room to get the socket over the nut. is it a 16mm nut??? Not to mention I burned the shit out of my hand on the manifold plugging the 02 sensor back in.

I need a 16mm deep wall socket. I only had a 15mm one and the only 16mm socket I had wasn't a deep socket. I'll have to stop by autozone and pick one up along with another universal swivel to make it work next time. MAYBE I'll try again tomorrow after work haha. I gave up for today. I have a softball game to focus on in a couple of hours.

16mm is the same as 5/8" (just like 8mm is the same as 5/16"). Most metric socket sets skip 16mm. Although I think mine was 15mm but I can't remember.

Thanks for the info. I can't believe I didn't get this done after doing it a handful of times before. Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow

I've stripped several manifold nuts and it seems like every single time the engine was cold and the nut welded itself to the stud. Whenever I started the job with the engine still slightly warm I never stripped a nut. I may be wrong but that is my anecdotal experience.

Got a BMR UCA and some hood struts in today. Just need to order up the UCA mount and I'll be in business!

Here is the list so far on this build.
My 2014 has 1850 miles on it already has Airaid cai, dyno tech drive shaft ,Bassani axle backs, BBK shortys and a hi flo catted H pipe steeda lower control arms, steeda sway bar, steeda adjustable pan hard bar, tri ax short throw on the car. In the parts pile waiting to go on ATI Super balancer, arp crank bolt, cobalt wide band , cobalt boost gauge , BMR Relocation brackets, shift light, Max flo fuel pump booster. Pro charger kit being delivered this week. I am running a "canned" tune from Brenspeed at the moment it woke the car up with the CAI and the exhaust. After the blower install it will be dyno tuned at Big Daddys in Lakewood NJ.

was yesterday actually, but I was too tired to post when I got done.

Took the Steeda LCA relo brackets off and installed CHE one's instead. I like these CHE one's a lot. The Steeda one's were strong enough, but I like the design of the CHE one's way more.

Fit and install was a breeze, no problems at all.
