Just use blend. It doesn't need full, and I really think full synth is overkill for most street cars. Any place thats telling you it needs full is trying to rape you.

Mobil1 is $5 per quart at Wal Mart ($24.96 for the 5 quart jug). Takes me less than an hour to do a full service on my car or truck including greasing the chassis and cleaning/oiling the air filter. I would never trust my vehicle to one of those kids working at any quickie oil change shithole.

They just came back and said it only needed blend. Kinda sad the dealer doesn't know what it needs lol.

Service writers typically don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I can't tell you how many simple things I've had to explain to them before working at a dealer.

Not all of them are idiots. Most of the oil change dudes I worked with at the dealership were competent, careful, and conscientious. Everyone made a mistake from time to time though. No one is perfect. Now Iffy Lube on the other hand... I've lots of horror stories about those places and working on cars after they went there was always annoying. Over-tightened filters were the fucking worst.

I hate when i hear people's attitudes towards lube centers. I ran one for 10 years, we ran 100+ cars a day and never once had a failure. Some guys take pride in their work, doesnt matter if its at a dealer or a lube center.

I'm sure there are certain lube centers that do a good job. But you're always gonna hear about the bad seeds(same with dealer service centers) more than the good ones

I know my friend went to apply to a jiffy lube type place and they wanted him to be certified by ase I believe. He was so shocked by that

That's the majority of them but when I was 19 and worked at an auto parts store I saw quite a few people come in with a rubber oil pan plug(from the help section) wanting the "factory replacement" for it because it was leaking. When I asked who had been doing their oil changes, well you guessed it. Also I saw a few threads when the Coyote came out that Ford dealers were putting 6 quarts in the 5L because they assumed it was the same as the 4.6L. In other words it only takes one idiot to screw up your car permanently so for something as simple as an oil change it isn't worth it to me. Just my 2 cents.

Found out I have a vibration at or above 80 now. Hopefully a new DS and adjusting my pinion angle will clear it up.

Dealers and quick lubes are good and bad. I have a friend that had her oil changed at the dealer. When they got done her and her husband took off and after a few miles pulled over b/c their motor shut off. Come to find out the filter was loose. Dealer took full responsibility
