My sct tuner has been stolen!

My car was broken in and a few thing were stolen..... My sct tuner was one of the items taken. I'm planning on getting another one. I still have my bama tune in the car. So how will it work with a new one? I read somewhere that I will need to get the car re-flashed. I saved my stock in PC. Any assistance and suggestions will be greatly appreciated it. Thanks!

To install a new tuner, no, just overwrite with a new SCT device. If want to have the stock file on the new flasher so one day you get it back to stock, SCT can do that for you.

You may want to contact SCT if you have the SN and report it stolen, maybe you can be alerted if someone requests to have it unlocked.

Should be able to use the SCT tool to upload it to the new tuner if he has it on the PC, correct? Dynospeed did something similar with mine since it is the Bluetooth model (TSX) and they were having issues connecting it to a device. They ended up using an X3, and then put the final tune onto my SCT TSX when they were done. I know that when I was using BAMA tunes and they sent me some, I used SCT's tool to upload them into the TSX.

One thing is uploading tunes another completely different is the stock read. Probably years ago it was possible when stock and tune files where saved separately, something I've never tried and really doubt it would work with some preparation from SCT, now, from some time, SCT has been creating a single encrypted and compressed file with what I guess is stock, VID block and tune that is not "uploadable" to the device, you can send this file to them and request a stock restore and they would probably generate an update in the server so one can update the flasher, getting an stock file and doing a return to stock on the car, for then re-tune again, something along those lines.

That makes sense. I was basing it off of OP saying the stock tune was downloaded to the PC. I haven't been able to export my stock tune to PC, just the custom ones. I was thinking that since he had the file, he would've been able to use it like a custom tune.
