Looking at the 2013 GT specs sheet I found, MT coupe was 3618, 'vert was 3735; AT coupe was 3675, 'vert was 3792. Looks like it did gain a bit, but not like the freakout articles are stating ('13 MT coupe vs '15 MT fastback is a gain of 86#). So, much ado about not very much--just not the 200+ pound loss they originally claimed.

I am not sure how soon we will get our cars, but we do have 2 on order. One is a manual trans with performance package for road course use, the other is a base auto...for drag use.

I will immediately get them on our corner scales and be posting the info. Weight distribution, total weights, etc etc.

Yep, while this 3704 pound number is encouraging, I'm betting it is off by 30-50 pounds... could go either way.

I have the local Ford dealer on speed dial... the moment they get a car I'm there with our brand new wireless scales in 15 minutes. We plan on making a comprehensive "weight tech" page for the S550 like we did for the EVO IX and several others in the past.

On the 4cyl headroom...there is a Ford Racing tune and spark plug kit you can buy which pushes a Focus ST to 350+ft-lbs of torque. I haven't seen this independently verified, but it's encouraging.

Wow, I am quite interested in this. I have a 2.0 turbo escape.

I'd like to see this too. Seems like most performance items apply to the Focus ST and not the Escape. Not sure why since it is the same engine.

It kills me that I can't post stuff the stuff I know in here. We're actually installing privacy curtains inside the shop since we have so many people/customers/clients walking through, and we have to keep the S550 development stuff under wraps.

We'll be building a 550 for Sema (should have it this or next month I believe). Our initial plan was for a no-holds-barred GT-level track car, but those plans have been changed for a number of reasons- but we do plan on competing with what we end up building I'm guessing you won't see an 'official' S or R for another year, but things are always evolving...

Lots of the pieces hanging off the block are slightly different to fit the different engine bay. The same issue affects the 2.0 Fusion--same engine, but many FoST pieces don't quite fit. It's frustrating many in the 2G Fusion community knowing the parts are there for the Focus, but not yet for the Fusion.

FWIW, we've tested the Brembo and non-Brembo V8 GT springs. They are so close that they are not worth considering the difference.

The springs are progressive, so the measurement at ride height is:

Non-Brembo are 110 F / 154 R
Brembo are 125 F / 188 R

There is A LOT of S197 DNA in this car. It shows in the rear spare tire well area and the floor pan "frame" rails. It is nice to see the underside of this car finally. Looks like Ford went to great lengths to smooth out as much of it as they could.

Hell, it almost looks like you could take the K-member off of the current and swap it onto the newer or vise versa.
