Soooo..... I'm going to lower a 2014 5.0 and..... I was told by their family that I'm suppose to swap the upper left strut mount with the upper right strut mount and visa versa....

Then.... Only torque down the upper strut mounts to 20ft lbs....

Is it just me? Or is someone on crack? Lmao

You can rotate the mounts 180 degrees to correct the alignment issue. Strut mount is 26 ft lbs on the 4 small strut mount bolts. I dont remember the strut rod torque.

I get the rotating part. But they are saying swap the drivers side mount with the passenger side mount.... I don't see any purpose in that and have never seen directions on suggesting that

There is no left or right on the front struts or upper strut mounts. They are identical, like brake discs or wheels. You do not swap the left for the right, you spin the upper mounts around 180 degrees.

You know, this swap the right with the left thing had me wondering about whether the upper mounts were left and rights so, I had to check the stock strut assemblies I took out of mine. I can't tell any difference about whether the upper mounts are left and rights. However, the stickers on the assemblies claim left and right parts...for the entire assemblies. I didn't give this a thought when I put the Koni replacements on and have not noticed anything different. In my opinion, there is no difference other than a sticker being placed on the struts that say otherwise. Car still moves in the proper directions. (8^D)

The stock struts only have one hole where the sway bar end links mount - that is what makes them side-specific. Most aftermarket struts have holes on each side, which allows you to mount a strut on either side of the car and still connect the end links.
