Looks like our times are pretty close. I do need more converter though. Well done.

Thank you. I was just reading your thread about your runs from Sunday at Bremerton (I was there Friday for TNT). We really gotta line up sometime out there now that our cars are so so close in ET & trap speed. Talk about a drivers' race!

Quick question for ya regarding a converter, does it still drive like stock meaning if doesn't stall during normal driving? I'm really thinking about ordering one but still have to figure out if mine is the old style or one of the new ones. I haven't had much finding out the difference in the two or which one mine has.

It drives similar to stock, but it revs a little higher when you first take off and revs noticeably higher going uphill. I made sure to buy a 'lock up' style converter so that it locks up at cruising and highway speeds for decent fuel economy. I had the tune written to lock up at WOT midway in 2nd gear and then it stays locked the balance of the gears to pull harder through the 1/4 mile. Leaving it loose in 1st and the first part of 2nd really helps my launch at the dragstrip.

Overall, the converter makes daily driver much more enjoyable. Much more responsive acceleration from any speed with less downshifting needing to speed up.

My 4C is going in as I type this. Should have feedback tomorrow when I pick it up. Found a shop here that is doing it for $350 which seems like a good deal. I typically don't pay people to work on the car, but I don't have time.

I think I paid $400 to have mine installed. You gotta report back to us with how you like the 4C.

I'm thinking about long tube headers this winter. How do you like your ARH's? Any thoughts on how they compare to Pypes LT's that are 1-3/4" then step up to 1-7/8" vs the ARH's that are 1-7/8" all the way to the collectors?
Some have had fitment issues with the Pypes, some haven't. I know Brett (WBT) swears by them and his time slips certainly back up his claims. I have yet to hear any fitment issues from anyone on the ARH and mine fit like a glove. But they are expensive. I would look into the Kooks 1 3/4 mid lengths as well since they have the best o2 placement of all the headers.

Honestly though for the money just an off road x-pipe is worth it. I picked up very little with the longtubes over my off road H-Pipe other than just a better all around tone. To me longtubes on a N/A car aren't a very good bang for the buck mod. But many of us do it anyways.

Anxious to hear more feedback on impressions of the converter. I will probably make a decision this weekend on whether to get one or not.

Wait? If your serious about making your auto fast the converter is the best mod to do short of F/I.

I completely agree with you, but I will likely be adding a blower in the spring. I have a goal of 11's this year and the converter would get me there for sure, but I won't need a converter to get 60's in the 1.6 range after adding a blower. So, there's my dilemna lol.

If you go with a centrifugal blower (which doesn't make much low end torque) you'll want the stall converter. If you go with a twin screw, then you'll have all the low end torque you could ever want. Personally, I love the stall converter & centrifugal combo (went that route on my '07 GT) as they complement each other very well.

My original plan was to get a Procharger, a friend got the exact kit I wanted and took it to the track with the stock converter and the 60' killed it. It ran good after the 60' but just couldn't make up for the weak launch. Seeing that sold me on a TVS and that will most likely be what I get.

Just drove it home from the shop. Right now, didn't notice a difference. Was in traffic so didn't have a chance to punch it, but in stop/go and rolling around, drives just like stock. Put Mike Roush tune in it for the converter, so not sure how he sets it up, but it almost makes me wish I went with the 5C from my 10 minute drive home.
