lost my SCT X3 device, can i get a new one ?

can i buy a new device & go ahead with my life ?

i still have the device number + strategy code from my email..

or i need to change the computer of my car or PCM ??

you can get a new tuner from anywhere but you will have to talk to the shop who did your tune now and get them to change the device number ( for the sct ) on their tune then send it to you again via email .....

I have done the same thing.To get the stock tune back on your car, you need to go to a dealer you know and have them reflash the car, but dont do that until you have the handheld with you, so you can download the stock tune and upload you performance tune into it.

Your only concern would be getting the car back to a stock tune. And that would have to be done by a Ford dealer.

Why give a crap about the stock tune anyway? Just contact whoever you bought the device and tune from (assuming you got them both at the same place) and get a new device from them. They shouldn't have any problem putting the tune on the device for you. If you did not get the device and tune from the same place then you should have a copy of the tune. Buy a new device and put the tune on it yourself.

1- buy a new SCT X3

& btw, just like you mentioned, i have Richmonds 3.73's in my garage waiting to be installed but i remember how u said its quiter than a mice's fart in a church

You got it! Ford should be able to reflash it to a certain PCM code, but we always ask for the strategy code just to be on the safe side. It will make Justin's life easier that way.

Honestly, we have tried that with SCT, with mixed results. Not to knock them, but I wouldn't really rely on them to do all that work for nothing.

The only time I needed that service was with a problematic Fusion but they worked it out perfectly, I wasn't even a SCT dealer back then, I know they are slow but people like MikeT there is very helpful.

I said this because I've read that the OP is somehow reluctant to get the car to the dealer (as I would of any overseas Ford dealer), if you complain of your US dealers you have to see what they do in countries like mine, most of them doesn't even have a WDS to do such jobs. (That is why we invested in our own IDS).

that's understandable, I deal with Dubai a lot, and they have the same issues. I've just run into people having problems with SCT giving corrupted stock files back, and it causes all sorts of extra steps.
