Catch can and engine sound??

Does deleting the PCV system and running either breathers or the Peterson Catch can setup change the sound of the motor??? I'd swear my car sounds much different now that I'm running the Peterson setup. The motor tone is a much deeper growl and no valve train noise.

Also, I noticed some smoke coming out of the catch can when the car is running. Is this normal or is #8 about to pop???

Maybe you have a cold and throat is groggy. Try making your car moving noises in a week and report back.

well Darren you effectively did delete the pcv system to a breather/ vta catch can.. and yes the smoke you see is actually not smoke just oil vapor that is now not entering the intake and engine.. Totally normal.

Not really. I drove mine for over 8 thousand miles and didn't have a film of oil vapor or residue that I could tell.

LOL!!! I bought it used from Ron @ AM. It looked brand new when I got it but I wanted it powdercoated so it would blend with the firewall.

Serious though, my motor sounds different and the valve train noise that was slightly noticeable is gone. Must be building horsepower as it grows up! I think it'll be a GT500 by the end of the year!!
