one eyed willy
Pizzle fo shizzle
Soooo.... Last night at the track on the 2 step, this happened. Pulling it now, never been inside one of these. Is it more than hand tools to replace the output shaft?

I would be surprised if the transmission internals and output/input shafts weren't already heat treated to some degree. You might be able to have one heat treated, it's supposed to make them stronger.
) depending on the price as he's pushing more power. How many millions would that kind of swap cost?
What are your thoughts on cryo treatment?
What are your thoughts on cryo treatment? I've got a lead on a 6060 with a buggered output shaft. Figured as it has to be pulled apart, if I decide to buy it, I may go cryo treating of certain parts before putting it all back together. No idea on cost and if it would be worth it though. Almost certain I wouldn't be able to get it done here in the UAE so would have to get it done in the US and shipped over.
In all fairness I won't be looking for more than 600-650 at the wheels and the stock 6060 is designed to handle that anyway. Guess it depends on the price for cryo. May well be worth it for Willy (if he decides to remain a real man and not go auto) depending on the price as he's pushing more power.
I use a company called 300 Below for my ambulance brake rotors. I get more than twice the life out of brake rotors now before they start to crack.

I wouldn't recommend it for your power level. Not sure on cost but it's a bit more than heat treat because they use vacuum insulated cooling chambers instead of a furnace.
Thanks for that Timmbo. Lots of good info. Also found this site with some prices. Doesn't seem all that expensive. http://www.finishedracing.com/cryo_pricing.html
