I'm Cam - Mr. Indecisive
Installed some yellow laminx I had laying around. Still 50/50 but I do like that it grabs your attention:
Jim,Got the PCV opened up so it is now a flow through system, and re-gapped the plugs. They were all at .50+! So gapped down to .30 as specified by Hellion. When I put the new engine in, I forgot about the PCV and the plug gap; but the injectors were swapped over so at least I remembered that.
Didn't get the hood pins on yet. And couldn't get my catch can on. There is a hole on the shock tower that is perfect - except there are 2 things bolted on that "ear" (look to be grounding straps) and one partially blocks the hole that I need for the catch can mount.
Started buying parts for the th400 swap! All I need is trans,ds and converter. Just gotta pull the tr6060 next week!
Haha I'm the exact opposite. I'm always paranoid I leave shit too loose and feel I end up over tightening things sometimes. So I got in the habit of using torque wrenches whenever possible. And when I don't, I use the buddy system. I grab one of my trusted co workers/friends I'll tighten to a point and then have him go over it again as a quality control measure. Sounds dumb typing it out, but it works and zero faults so far in my mod/maintenance work on the Mustang. But not from lack of stripping or breaking shit on previous cars...hahaI am paranoid about over tightening the oil filter when doing oil changes, so apparently when I changed my oil last week, I didn't tighten the filter enough, and so I had a small puddle of oil under the car yesterday morning. At first I thought it was something serious that would need me to take it to the dealership, so I was relieved to find out it was only a dumb move on my part.
So what have I done to my Mustang today? I fixed an oil leak! LOL

Pulled it out of the valve cover, then with a needle nose plier popped the cap off and the spring and "plunger" slide out. Then put the now open PCV back in the valve cover. It was pretty simple - but at first I didn't think that it would come apart because it looked to be all one piece. As part of the turbo install Hellion says to open it and make it a flow through. I noticed with the re-gapped plugs and flow through PCV that the engine idles much better and it used to "surge" slightly cruising on the highway; gap was at 0.50+ rather than the 0.30 that Hellion says is needed. So you just gutted the inside of the PCV port fittings?

Not sure how I feel about the yellow. Different, looks good, but does it look better?
After 3 1/2 years of owning the car, I finally took the sound tube out lol! Looks waaaay better. Going to detail the engine bay this evening. Gotta get ready for AM this weekend.
