The threads that I've scoured regarding coil overs are chock full 'o experts and I felt a little lost. I've also read our threads on offsets and I just can't seem to wrap my head around the spacial relationships of the dimensions. Plus even if you have the right size and offset, it's a question of will the Brembos play nice with the spoke design?
This will be the first time I've ever ventured into the world of coil overs. Previously, I've just had UCA/LCAs and Springs but that's it.
I discovered a setup that a previously active member had and I knew I had to have it. Wheels are Varrstoen es2 - 90% sure I'm going with 18x9.5 +12 in the front and 18x10.5 +22 in the rear. 255/40 and 275/40 to match. 10% I may go with 19s.
Currently, I have 19"s with 275/40 front and rear on Sportlines. To achieve the stance in the picture below I'm pretty sure coil overs are required.
Luckily I discovered an old friend of mine owns an aftermarket parts company here in DFW and is a dealer for both Varrstoen and BC Racing.
From what I have read in the past I thought +33 thru +48 was the sweet spot for Brembos given that the spoke design was clearance-friendly.
The above measurements of 18x9.5 +12 were verified by Varrstoen that they should clear brembos per my parts guy. I didn't question him, but it certainly made me wonder.
Any thoughts on that measurement not working? I believe the white car pictured above has 18x10.5 +22 front and rear but Varrstoen specifically state 18x9.5 +12 for the front. Are they just trying to play it safe?
Thanks in advance for the input, everyone.
