Have you considered BFG g-force sport comp 2's as an alternative ? I was also considering them, but they're not available in 275-35-20's and I didn't want to risk running 275-40's in the front, as I was concerned with the taller sidewall not providing enough clearance, so I decided on the Nitto NT555 G2's instead..

How do you like the g2? They have I'm am starting to get very curious about them, I had the 555s on my older mustang and was very pleased with them.

And I have looked at the g-force sport comp 2s they look like a nice tire, I haven't read much on them yet though, do you have any experience with them?

I think at this point anything will be eons better than these shit sumitomos, I was downshifting to decel the other day and they chirped, they're such garbage

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to install the G2's just yet, as I've been busy with my local car club going to car cruise events this past week as it finally stopped friggin raining here in the Pittsburgh area..

But I'm sure I'll really like them once they're finally installed which I hope will be sometime this week..

The main reason I decided on them was from all the positive reviews I read about the G2's on this site and also from the mustang source.. So I went ahead and purchased them from Steeda along with my Spyder 20x9.5 wheels as a tire and wheel package..

I also read a lot of positive reviews about the BFG g-force sport comp 2's as well, but I have no personal experience with them..

However I was especially impressed with their 340 treadware rating but as I mentioned earlier, they're not available in 275-35-20" and didn't want to chance going with the 275-40's in the front due that the taller sidewall might not clear the wheel well and after speaking with someone from BFG tech, they claim the 275-40-20 has been discontinued anyhow, unless discount tire still carries them in stock.. Plus I also couldn't pass on the discount from Steeda as they took over $500.00 off the retail price for being a long term, repeat customer lol.

IMHO I really don't think you can wrong with either the Nitto G2's or the BFG's as they're pretty much identical with the exception of the 340 vs 320 treadware rating which really isn't considered much of a difference to begin with anyhow.. And if you liked the 555's you had on your older Mustang you'll really like the G2's more, as Nitto improved on the design over the 555's..

In the end, I think you'll be very pleased with the G2's if you decide to get them and I totally agree with you about Sumitomo's, as I had the HTR Z II's that were noisy and absolutely horrible in taking corners and even more so in wet conditions..

In the meantime, I'll be posting pic's of the G2's and Spyder wheels as soon as they're finally installed and also let you know how much I like them as well..

I just installed a set of 305/45x18s on the rear of my car on 9.5" wide wheels. I love them!

I can definitely understand why you love them so much, as they look really great.. Btw: What brand is your wheel set ?

Seriously? 90+ degree day and a few runs back to back.

Across town, you get to do your one run...then have enough time to do some grocery shopping b4 the next one. Same deal with drag racing. Meanwhile the eng heat soaks while it's sitting in the hot sun, along with al manifold and ic /he... with eng off. I gave up on both.

The 555 were available in a 295-45-18..with a 10" measuring width. The G2 version gets a 295-40-18.... but has a 10.5" measuring width. It would be ideal on a 11" rim.
