As wckdgt and skwerl have stated, its tune related to the factory tune. I never tried a brake torque burnout in mine leaving a stop light or the dealership on the way out, but the car would lay it down with all traction control deactivated, leaving normally from a stand still. The 6r80 has 4.17 first gear in it so couple that with a 3.15 final and you have a combined ratio of 13.13 which is just a smidge taller than the combined ratio of an MT-82(first =3.66) with a 3.73 final gear ratio.

GET A TUNE! Its that simple. Think the car is fun now? GET A TUNE! A simple canned tune from one of the REPUTABLE TUNERS will do wonders for your fun button. VMP, AED, LITO, MIKE ROUSH, are all spoken of highly on this site and others. Then all you will need is to open a revolving account at your local tire stores to keep you in back tires.

Gents,

For information, Bobcat is Bob Monks, a very upstanding and knowledgeable owner of a Mustang go-fast shop in the St. Louis, MO area and he does know how to tune (SCT, HPT). He has earned the lofty reputation that he enjoys in these here parts. And, no, I am not a relative of Bobcat's! :D

And I'm still waiting for you to post a good time slip..........

Ha, ha! 11.52 @ 119+ in a well-optioned GT with 100% pure stock engine & suspension isn't fast enough?

Shortly after you posted this, I actually bought a '16 Scat Pack to go with my '14 GT. While the Scat Pack is very cool, it certainly isn't as quick as my Mustang. I bought the Scat Pack to be a big comfortable daily driver, and I only like V8 RWD coupes. My Mustang will now be more track focused so you can expect even quicker time slips next racing season.

The Scat Pack can certainly burn rubber! But, the Mustang sure does, as well. Big converter and 4.10 gears in the Mustang FTW!!!

Sucks most of the Dodge stuff is open diff, the computer is using the brakes to make 11s when you power brake or whatever.
My 2015 Charger R/T would run out the back door on my 08 GT, but was shit off the line. 8 gears will change your life tho, lol. I always kept that car in sport mode to drive it, in the end no amount of computers hides the car's mass, you were constantly aware of the computer modulating the brakes in normal driving.
We got rid of it when I started seeing a rash of failed cams/lifters on HEMI powered vehicles coming through the shop. I'm rebuilding a 2011 5.7 HEMI right now for that very reason.

Well, since I got the Scat Pack as a daily driver, and my '14 GT will continue to be my weekend warrior, I hope the Challenger will live a relatively easy life and not break anything. I leased it, so if there is any trouble over the next 3 years, I'll just give it back to Dodge at lease end.

The Challenger's 8 speed auto is awesome, and I like how big/heavy the car is since it's a daily driver. I always keep it in sport mode to keep it out of MDS (4 cylinder mode).

I drove my '14 GT for several days this week and it is more nimble and definitely faster. So easy to break 'em loose and hang the back end out from any speed up to about 40 mph on dry pavement. On wet pavement it'll break 'em loose at any speed when going WOT since it has such a loose converter and big gears. Still a blast to drive!

We had ours for the same reason, RWD 4 door daily, the car just wasn't for me. If the engine management wasn't a mystery to all but a very select few at the time, I would have done a cam swap. They supposedly pick up almost 100 HP with just a cam and tuning.

I have a C63 Mercedes that came from the factory with 451hp, and it too has an open diff. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands fox 5.0's were sold with limited slip diffs, and that's 225 factory hp.........Mind boggling. But it does just fine at the drag strip with a good burn-out somehow with over 600rwhp? But a diff. might be going in this winter for it.

On the 2013/14 automatic you need a tune to turn off the electronic controls. You can't brake torque the automatic above about 2,000 rpm because the torque management controls kick in. Turning off ABS and Advance Trac doesn't override that. That's why you need a tune.
