Completely agree. But the addiction to boost can be a little more risk to reliability. Doesn't mean it won't be reliable but we all know speed is addicting.

So I really want the supercharger and I don’t mind spending the money because in my mind it’s like I can spend 30k or more on a brand new one but on a body style I don’t care for or make this one the style I like way faster then a new one or Shelby but my gpa and everyone else are trying to tell me once you mess with the engine your asking for trouble because then your gonna have to change this and that which I don’t know too much about superchargers so I don’t know if there’s actually anything I really need to seriously do besides get a good tune

Since you plan on daily driving this...will you be driving in snow? If so, how deep?

I live in NJ however I won’t be here during the winter months so this year no snow but I’m not sure in the future

I had a Saleen SC on my Mustang for several years, making 489rwhp with a few minor upgrade. There are a ton of vendors that sell the SC's give them a call, they will point you in the right direction, but make sure you have a plan when you do call them.

If you buy the supercharger as a packaged kit it will come with the extras you need. And keep in mind you will need to address the engine internals at some point the closer you get to 500whp. When your grandfather talks about "needing this and that" he probably means unexpected repairs.

If you go with a kit, it should come with everything you need as long as you don't change things up too much (i.e. go with a small pulley than the kit comes with). The biggest issue you might have with an SC is some belt slip, not everyone has that issue, but a good shop will know how to address the problem correct and the first time. As far as rwhp I was at 489rwhp for a number of years on a 91 octane tune, I would mix in a few gallons for 100 octane if I went to the track just for safety's sake.

The only extra l would recommend below the 475 rwhp level would be an upgraded heat exchanger. What happens on the street is that the IATs run hot and the ecm pulls timing which lowers the hp relative to where it should be.

There are few things to consider when adding a supercharger. Oil catch cans and possibly a tranny oil catch can. These are things you can do yourself. For the most part Supercharger kits come complete with what you will need. If you plan on taking the car to the strip you might consider replacing input shaft and go with a one piece driveshaft. Your grandpa might be thinking of potential repairs down the road which for the most part guys don't have much to deal with. Adding a supercharger doesn't mean the car still won't net 150,000 to 200,000 miles. Its achievable. The car will be reliable. You just have to pay attention to codes and do regular maintenance as I'm sure you already know

If you do end up supercharging your car, consider upgrading the oil pump gears and harmonic balancer.

Relax..Just drive it, enjoy it. Figure out what you want to do with it.
As the budget allows work to that goal.
That's short on specific s I know, but keep in mind you're not going to be the fastest out there, build it for YOU

I’d like to suggest that you take a rather different approach, sort out your suspension first. Power is nothing if it cannot handle.

I dropped 3-4 large , rims tires, struts, lowered springs, caster camber plates, sway bars, end links, bushings.

Tighten up the bolts on the steering shaft u-joint bolts, check for wear on steering rubber coupler (rag joint) under dash and replace or eliminate (still haven’t found solution)

You should see considerable improvemts in confidence inspiring speed.

I’m almost there where I want to be and only then would I increase power.

The beauty of this is that you can probably do it all yourself as I did and save considerable coin.
