I've been away for a long time. First post here in nearly a year. I traded the '14 GT for a low mileage, mint condition '11 GT500 a couple weeks ago. My '14 GT was just resold a couple days ago in Tacoma, WA. Most of the mods went with the car (converter, gears, tuner, etc.). Hopefully, the new owner will hit the track and pick up where I left off with this great 5.0L!
I will follow this with much anticipation, as I would like to do the same!!

I am hopeful that whoever bought my '14 GT will continue to mod it. Perhaps I can find him/her, and encourage membership here to document further improvements.

Are you planning on drag racing the GT-500 ? Even once or twice... just out of interest, to see how the 11 GT-500 compares to the modded 14 GT.

Sorry for the delay. Crazy life since buying the GT500. I don't really want to thrash the GT500, but I've found some drag tests for 2011-12 GT500's to get a rough idea. Bone stock with drag radials seems to put them in the mid-11's at about 123 mph, so it should be similar to my '14 GT to the stripes, but with a little higher trap speed. Gotta say, my '14 GT felt quicker - probably because the static torque ratio (STR) of the 5,000 rpm stall converter was so big (1.8:1) and the 4.10 gears give the illusion of acceleration.

I may very well buy some drag radials for the GT500 so I can hit the track at least once and get better traction during mid-summer on the streets. There's so much torque with the blower and the 3.73 gears that traction is certainly a challenge.

I see the 13/14 GT-500's came with a 3.31 rear gear. Then they avoided the gas guzzler tax, plus slightly easier getting some traction. Local mustang prez bought himself a new at the time, 2014 GT-500. He said it was a handful in the wet, esp getting started on hills in the wet. I believe the 13/14 GT-500's came with 285 rears. The carbon fiber LSD on the 08-12 GT-500's won't last long either. The oem lca /uca/phb setup is also marginal.

A buddy of mine in CT bought himself a used 2016 Charger hellcat, with 707 crank hp / 658 crank tq..and a 8 speed auto tranny. Damned thing comes oem with 275-40-20 rubber on all 4 x corners.....all on 20 x 9.5" rims. He tells me 2 days ago, that he barely gets into it, and the back end is all over the map, zero traction, semi useless. The fix I suggested to him was a 315-35-20 on a 20 x 11" rim..on the rears. Then his rear tire OD remains virtually identical at 28.68". With oem 275's up front, then he ends up with a 40mm stagger, which may well create under steer issues...which of course will require wider fronts.

With high TQ blower cars, manual or auto, the oem rear rubber leaves a lot to be desired. Unsafe, and you can't use the tq. Dunno what they were thinking.
