Alternator wires

today I replaced my alternator with a low miles saleen mustang alternator. If you didn’t know, their alternators hook up in different places from the stock gt one. I didn’t want to extend wires so I figured out a solution. I ran the wires under the intake to the alternator. Does anyone know if there will be any issues with this? I assumed not since there were wires ran there and a hose under there so it can’t get too hot there

When I ran 0 gauge wire for a high amp alternator, I also was worried about whether it could sit on the intake. The wire was rated at 212 degrees, but I wanted to be 100% sure. I ended up putting the wire in a braided sleeve that was rated at 400 degrees. They are cheap.

Just to be safe, I still tied it up to the fuel rail, but it doesn't sound like that will be an option for you. By the way, many of the rubber tubes are rated for high temp, so don't let their presence make you think the wire must be safe at the same temperature. Could be safe, but I don't think the rubber hoses should be your decision point.

I ran mine under the intake not on top of it I went ahead and purchased some wire loom online it’ll be here Saturday I just hope nothing burns because it’s my daily so I don’t really have a choice lol
