Where can I find taller springs

yes taller springs, not lowering springs. I’m building my 2005 Gt for Rallycross and first I’m getting some Bilstein HD struts but they don’t come with springs. I’m hoping that taller springs are available somewhere.

I have some measurements of the oem springs such as diameter and length from a website, maybe I can use that somehow. Any insights is appreciated, thanks!

I think your choices are going to be finding some truck springs and trimming them down as needed. Or go custom.

I think finding taller springs may be pretty hard since it’s the opposite of what most people want to do.. perhaps finding springs for another application and making them work or, and this is a big question mark but I’m throwing the idea out, could you put a spacer between the top of the strut and the strut tower?

I’ve had a wrx years ago and I had a strut spacer on them, worked great. Hopefully I can find something

So is the streetwise link your business?
noooo, advertising isn't allowed unless you're a sponsor. I just work at a machine/fab shop.

the 8.5 travel struts... stock is 6" as far as I can determine, should be a real banger with that much extra movement. Maybe perfect where the geometry/bump steer won't go completely to hell.

I didn’t even think of the effect of bump steer, I’m curious how it’ll change that and the roll center too. Wish I was a bit smarter in these areas lol

Also I’m a little confused on your advice. So to paraphrase, get custom springs from spring works.com to be at what height I need front and rear. The use the Bilstein shocks from street wise, and get the mounts fabricated from a shop. Then use the custom springs with these Bilstein shocks?

I have a set of 09' GT500 springs for a convertible. they came with a few parts I purchased after I got my 05 GT. long story short, they raised my car about 1.5 inches from what stock was, which I though was high to begin with and it looked ridiculous (to me). I promptly swapped them out with lowering springs. if your wanting a cheap alternative, look for some of those. they should bolt right up to the Bilsteins and GT500 mounts. good luck

I would put the tires on and then figure out how much lift you need. People put huge wheels on these things so you might be safer than you think.
If you need lift having a machine shop make you strut blocks for the front and spacers for the rear is probably going to be it. If you are doing 2in or less lift you might be able to forget about bump steer and such for a little while.

Hmmm I wonder if them being for a convertible means they say higher. Probably because of a heavier car? Idk I’ll look into it. Super super helpful

welcome. they are the same overall "size" but much harder spring rate (stiffer).

rear springs are not coil overs so my plan is to get custom ones wound in the same manner as factory except longer - and also to reduce rate by say 25%. Damping will get ball parked and I will use/modify a suitable shock/mounting so that I have working travel as desired.

Front springs will be coilover units suited for the bilstein coilover strut bodies, available basically anywhere in a given rate (again, softer than stock,) and dimension. I know that eibach for instance probably has some.

rallycross you don't really need more travel, just decent tires. Raising the front/rear with subframe spacers/coil spacers, etc.. and using stock soft/?? springs (v6 rear springs?) or GT500 fronts (decent idea,) will probably more than suffice. My car is for off road racing and horrible road duty. The roads are about to become 3rd world in my area, and soon after that I'm leaving the pavement land and will only be driving on my unpaved race track.

I really like the Gt500 spring idea. I’m thinking of getting a set of those, and the Bilstein HD struts, with gt500 top hats. I’m thinking that should work
