Its not the best around here I'm sure but its my favorite video of me and my car.... and before anyone asks, I was having to shut the car off after every burnout because the shitty tune had it kicking fail safe mode on every time. Its been taken care of since this video.

I got back into the habit of it when I started running nitrous. I run a window switch for safety but I still do it just for the sake of the motor for the time being. Not to toot my own horn but you can see that the shifts are still pretty fast. N/A runs it stays planted. I shouldnt worry on nitrous cuz all the saftey features are in place but I still do.

This is about 3 years ago in my 95 with stock longblock and 3.27 gears...I lifted for 2nd because that's not a favorite gear....Not great but you get the idea and it's all I have. As far as being at the track in the 07....I lift slightly for 2nd because it doesn't always go in especially if i'm spinning in first alittle bit then the rest of the way the throttle stays down.

How much is power shifting down the 1/8th mile? 1/4?

I'm not sure I understand? I'm assuming how much time does it save on getting you to the other end? If that's the case everybody's style, technique, speed is different so it may save one person more time than than the next. However, i've always heard .2-.3 tenths but have no way to verify that.

2-3 hundredth doesnt hardly seem worth it for the amount of stress it puts on everything, does it? Unless you can hold boost during a wide open throttle shift.

For getting the most out of your car it's worth it in my opinion especially if it's the difference between a 13.2 and a 12.9...i'll gladly rebuild the trans plus it just as likely to have issues when taking it easy at the track. Don't race it if your worried about stress on the drivetrain.

I would agree with that... but not everyone gets to see a PLUS to power shifting.

I am NA and when I power shift (regardless of what mods I have had), my car runs slower between 1 and 2 tenths. Even if I shift 1000 RPM's before my reve limiter, it still spins up and bounces of the rev limiter almost every time. In a case like mine, the time it takes for the car to recover from that when it happens can cost you a win. Granny shifting works much better for me.

A driver would just need to try it and see how it works for them.

And speaking of beating the shit out of the drive train. I left work today and while still on base my shifter went into noodle mode. No gears at all, just flopping around. I was able to get it into 2nd and drive to the auto hobby shop and get on a lift. After 40 power shifting 1/4 mile passes last weekend, I thought I might have broke something.

First I though the linkage arm was loose. When that checked out O.K., I thought the tranny had bit it. I loosened and tightened the linkage arm anyway and the shifter was still like a noodle.

Then I heard the sound of a washer rattling when moving the stick around from inside the car. Bingo...I took off the leather boot and then the rubber dust boot. The top bolt of the shifter handle had come completely loose.

Note to self....when beating the shit out of the car, periodically check everything.

not 2-3 tenths. 2-3 hundredths.

Likewise but it doesnt want to go in. It just hits a brick wall

Got a Hurst short throw. When attempting to speed shift into 2nd, 75% of the time it won't go in. At around 5500 rpm it is a little better, but at 6000 it almost always fails. When granny shifting there is no problem, even at 6200 rpm. 3rd and 4th go in pretty good 99% of the time.
So can anyone tell me whats up with the 1 to 2 shift, other than the driver mod? Should I just get it in 2nd earlier?
I have this problem as well, and a buddy with a Saleen blown 08 did the night we were at the track.

I am shifting ~ 65-6700 and 1-2 WILL NOT go in unless I short shift it. After that I didn't even attempt the 2-3 or 3-4.

Will a torque limiter remedy this?

I got the WOT Box. http://www.npcompleteperformance.com/wotbox

Tested it from 3rd to 4th at around 4k. It felt like I was shifting when the car sitting still. I was impressed it worked that well. Also has a built in 2 step. Havent tested it higher than that yet because of lack of space to try it out. Going to be hitting the track on the 7th so we'll see!

I had not heard of the WOT Box. Let us know how it goes next weekend.

Does anyone else have this on this site?

mustard does.

A ton of 03-04 Cobra guys have them over on Modular Fords. Couple GT500 guys aswell with some videos.

The 2 Step works great too. Without retarding any timing I get 5lbs at 4600 RPMs
