Just bought a 2009 base model and it's got new ESR wheels and low profile tires. I cannot find a sticker on the car for the factory size tires. I've found some factory aluminum 17's from 2012 or 2014 Mustangs will these fit like stock on a 2009? What were the factory aluminum wheels on a 2009?

V6 car would have 16 or 17” for sure, can’t remember if there were 18” optional. Regardless the fitment for pretty much all S197 is the same other than brake clearance on the higher spec cars. If you can get the later 17” wheels they will be fine, just wont have the correct style of TPMS sensors in them for your year.

Thanks for the replies. I've found some sets of wheels, some from S197's and a nice set from a later model. Good to know they'll all fit and they are all 17". From what I find 2007-9 have the same TPMS sensors so I guess I'll end up buying a set of sensors. I guess the sensors that would work with the car will fit the later wheels.

I suggest you get the type of sensors that came on the car originally. Some of the newer styles will pair just fine, but then you end up with problems later on.

Will factory 18"'s fit? When I say fit I mean no rubbing or any other problems.
I see this car is missing the inner fenders, is this a problem on these cars if you put larger tires hitting them? I see a lot of aftermarket suppliers sell the inner fenders so this must be common.

I had original 18" chrome wheels on my old 06' GT convertible. Also, Shelby's, Bullitt's and GT500 all come stock with 18" rims.

These cars have a pretty good amount of room in the fender wells. You can run 22s if that's your jam.
Wheel diameter isn't what determines if you get rub or not. Overall tire height and width as well as wheel offset are the things you need to get right.

Ok, thanks. Found a set of late model 18's with nice tires so we'll see how it goes.
