I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on my car and pair them with this set of wheels, complete with spinner center caps. The wheels are currently at the paint shop for a color change—black just makes the whole summer vibe feel too dark and heavy. I need to pick a new color: dark gray, bronze, white, or flat gray? Share your opinions below; I've got about a week to decide!

Those look like Boss 302 wheels should look good as is on your grabber blue. I found a set of 2012 PP wheels for my sons 2014 Grabber Blue 3.7 they look great and I believe Brembo's would fit with these rims?

Yes, I had found a set of those in Kansas city, but the seller sold them as I was enroute driving to get them. Those look good on there. That color is o0ne of my choices. I put them on the car, and just did not enjoy the color, the wheels are going to be awesome! Leaning toward bronze with a dark base and glossy finish

If you’re computer savvy… You can photoshop and see what the wheels would look like in any color.

I personally like the black Boss 302 wheels. Matches with the black strip. Also optical illusion, car looks lower.

I once had white wheels on a bright red-orange car, I liked it a lot.
If you don't know which color you can use plasti dip first as a try.

This is the classic look I think of for those wheels. Brushed lip with raw matte magnesium colored centers.
I have also seen these Minilite/Wantanabe style wheels in many colors and they always look good so if this look doesn't do it for you, there are lots of good options.

My hesitation with the black, is the black convertible top. with the top up looks odd with so much black, top down is a different story. The photos above with the coup's look awesome.

Personally I'd leave them black to match the stripe/badges and get some blue mirror caps to add contrast up there instead. If you change the color of the wheels I would add maybe a pinstripe of a matching color to the stripes to tie them in.

It has been just short of forever getting these wheels sandblasted and refinished. Picked them up a few hours ago and here they are.20260310_161540.jpg20260310_161546.jpg

Now for tires, going to be a bit pricey compared to the stock 17". Doing the Bridgestone Potenza AS sport as a staggard setup. This would be the third set this month in my house, gotta say tire prices suck. Thoughts on wheel color going on my grabber blue convertible?

I dig the color, it's nice. I still stand by my comment earlier in the thread.. I think once you mount them you may want to add a little pinstripe to the rocker stripes that matches the wheels that'll tie them into the car. Excited to see them mounted!

I think I'd agree. A 1/4" tall pinstripe spaced 1/4" under the existing black one that matches the gaps in the black graphic.

EDIT: Changed my mind....almost the same thing, but move it up onto the black graphics, just under the 'Mustang' lettering. But do a dual line. 1/4" bronze then 1/8" gap then 1/8" bronze. It will look more finished. And little nod to the old 69 Mach 1 side stripe.

Love the idea of tie in the black stripe with a bit of color, did a bit of search on the '69 mach1 side stripe to refresh my memory, and its accent color goes down the middle after the mach1 lettering. Possibly rework that stripe in the style of the '69 somehow with an outline and center stripe? I sure like the back end of my side stripes.

First rule of graphics....SIMPLICITY! It's extremely easy to make something too fussy. Just look at all the graphics on cars in magazines and at shows. Sometimes you can't even tell what kind of car it is!
On the 69 Mach, I think that stripe looks best on the Gulfstream Aqua cars. The gold in the stripe and the paint are both warm tone colors and the reflective quality of the stripe matches well with the metallic paint.

A little color goes a long way.

Wow I still love my sons with the PP rims, but this colour truly makes the rim look like an old school mini lite. Can't wait to see these on the car, should look awesome nicely done.

Probably be a few weeks, months as I want the paint to fully cure along with my bank account for the new tires.
