Exhaust cutout locations

Cutouts
I am looking at running exhaust cutouts with turn downs right in this section?
Welding them in the last section right before it turns up over the axle

This 2006 has an 1.5 drop and a 285/40/18 rear tire

What are your thoughts, suggestions, recommendations?

Cut outs are generally much closer to the front.

Mine are at the beginning of the bend, facing outward.

I’ve tried short exhaust a couple times. Once with 20” tubes bolted to the collectors, with and without straight through mufflers. And another time with bullet mufflers exiting in front of the rear tires. Both setups resulted in poor idle quality and reduced throttle response. Hesitation to accelerate and the popping and snapping were intolerable. Now I’m running 3” independent duals all the way to the back with oval chambers at the end. Much better sound with no stumble or lean pop.
