55-60mph down the hwy with my wife and then started makeing noise, shut car down towed home and started looking and found it. Was not getting on it at all! I have less than 2k miles on this motor ran hard on the dyno and ripped its ass from a dead stop about 5 times on the hwy up to around 100mph and no problems then cruising along one day and this happened. Got me? Trying to get the bugs out so I can take this thing to the track!

Alright guys, got my follower/rocker arm and lifter/lash adjuster in from Ford. Rojizostang being the nice guy he is, is loaning me his valve spring compressor. Is there a way that I can check my valve to make sure the valve itself or the guide did not get damaged without pulling the whole head off?

UPDATE!!!! Fucking Broken Valve with around 2k miles on this motor!! Im so aggrevated. I am going to pull this head and go from there but I could really use some opinions on what is causeing this.... The Regrind Cams, Junk MMR Heads etc. etc... The valve broke right under the retainer and im not sure if that was from just getting beat on bye the follower after it popped off for some reason or if it failed first? I would think that even if the valve broke first the follower should still maintain its position due to the lifter and spring pressure holding it in place?

hey man, like our pm...i'm thinking the valve broke first....that's what caused the follower to pop off imho....the valve spring would easily wobble out of place at the top and the follower would just pop out.

i haven't read the whole thread..do you have manley valves?

and then the other thing would be heads from that company that you got them from, if you know what i mean, without starting a huge flamefest

Yeah, flamefest! MMR sucks I have heard that more than once! I spoke with them so everyone following knows and they want me to pull both heads and send to them for inspection. Im hopeing that they will make right on this whole ordeal. And yes they are Manley valves.

were the shims used that come with the bbr cams? My car started making a very loud ticking type sounds twice, and replaced all the lifters once, than I finally found out that the machine shop didn't put in the shims. Once they were put in (i think its 2 per lifter) the noise went away completley... I wonder if this caused your valve to take a shit. I have an MMR 800 shortblock and have had zero problems so far.

-just read that you were sure if they were used, just letting you know that I experienced a similar problem though. sorry for the confusion-

Yeah, I cant honestly say that they were used as I did not install them myself. I plan to dig a little deeper and check into that. Im really leaning like the other guys that the valve broke first and then from the spring not being stable cause the follower to fall off. Hard to say... :deadhorse:
