I have to agree with SD, my guess is the ring/ringland fialed and the boost/cylinder pressure ended in the pan, with no place to go but out through the v covers.

BTW, that is alot of power on pump gas, I would never reccomend that to a customer as pump gas just isn't consistant enough, one little rattle at that power and it is all over, I don't care what kind of parts are in there.

Just to clarify, the 687rwhp was a peak number on 1 pull with the initial tuning after 500 mile break in. It was detuned to mid 600s, never driven hard on the road, and never went to the track. Power level at the time of failure was just under 600.

I'm dying to know... How the Hell did the oil get on the ceiling? How did it get around the hood?

The angle of the valve cover was almost perfect to shoot it out the side at an upward angle. A lot did hit the hood and ended up all over the front half of the car.

I sent the motor back to the builder last week. I should know by the end of next week I hope. I don't want to say anything else about it right now - speculating isn't really fair to anyone at this point, so I'm just going to wait and see.

Maybe the builder blaming the tuner and vice versa? If you just had a motor built and it failed on the dyno, somebody screwed up somewhere.
